Waheela (SciiFii)

This small group of waheelas were prepared to attack an approaching pair of Southern Rocky Mountain wolves in order to protect their pack.

The waheela (Lycaon carnifex), is also known as the American golden dog, species of canid that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced to the forests, scrublands, grasslands, open woodlands, prairies, shrublands and mountain areas across North America, Canada, Alaska and Mexico to help boost biodiversity. The waheelas are one of the most largest species of canids in the Old World, about the size of an Eurasian wolf (Canis lupus lupus). During the winter, in areas where it gets cold, the waheelas will have thick coats in order to warm against the freezing temperatures during the winter.

Like most pack hunting canids, the waheelas are extremely social animals, living in large packs similar to that of spotted hyenas and dholes. Unlike most pack hunting canids, the waheelas are extremely social animals, living in living in large packs without rigid dominance hierarchies, packs usually consist of about 12 individuals, but large packs of over 40 are known. The waheelas are diurnal pack hunters which preferentially targets medium-sized and large-sized ungulates.

The waheelas are mostly carnivorous, mainly feeding on rabbits, peccaries, capybaras, pronghorns, elks, deer, caribou, moose, tapirs, horses, antelopes, bovids, camelids, etc. Their main rivals are wolves, hyenas, black bears, jaguars, hellhounds, grizzly bears, lions, coyotes, smilodons, dholes, cougars, primordial dogs, etc. The conservation status of waheela is Least Concern due to successful efforts and the waheela's wide range.
