The Town of Monsters is an American animated television series, produced by Disney Television Animation and developed by Greg Weisman and Victor Cook. It first aired on September 25, 2019.

The series was praised for its more intricate themes, darker tone, artistic presentation, and modernization of its cast of classic monsters such as vampires, werewolves, and ghosts. The series is also known for dipping into the horror genre while still being for kids.

Plot

The series follows the adventure of Carson Jones, as he and his family and friends investigate the supernatural goings on in their town of Sherwood, indiana as portals open up to supernatural worlds across the multiverse.

In season 1, an event known as the collision of worlds occurs, opening portals from the world of the supernatural and sending monsters into our world.

  • Vincent Martella as Carson Jones, a teenage paranormal investigator who dedicates himself to investigate the supernatural goings on in sherwood.
  • Laura bailey as Sarah Jones, Carson’s mother and former monster hunter, whose also a source of information regarding the monsters.
  • Eden Sher as Eliza Jones, Carson’s sister and later on a prominent witch and Carson’s best companion in combating the darker forces.
  • Andrew Rennells as Drake the Dragon, Carson's old imaginary friend who seems to know more than he lets on.

Supporting Cast

  • Kathy Bates as Mrs. Alice DeVito, the Jones family’s psychic next door neighbor and fellow paranormal investigator.
  • Cree summers as Dr. Jane Masterson, Carson’s other next door neighbor who works as a medical doctor and a friend to the Frankenstein and who works to understand the monsters invading the town.
  • Jennifer hale as Lilly Albertson, Jane’s lover who works as a nurse in the hospital who also works to understand the monsters.
  • John Dimaggio as John Crews, the town’s sheriff, who grows from a skeptic to a believer in the supernatural.
