The X was a roller coaster, located at LeapPark in Leapia, United Leaps.
The ride officially opened publicly on May 15, 1955 and ran until its closure in 2008.
History[]
Forming (1953 - 1955)[]
On July 3, 1953, X Enterprises began composing the roller coaster, as it took 2 years to complete, as the company paid $405,010 to construct it.
During 1954 and February 1955, the owner of LeapPark, at the time, donated between $100 and $1,000 to X Enterprises to help the business continue working successfully on the project.
Construction on the ride was completed on May 10, 1955 and was set to publicly open within 5 days.
Opening (1955)[]
5 days later, on May 15, 1955, the ride officially opened to the public, with an attendance level of more than 500,000 visitors, which technically supported the workers.
Many riders and visitors claimed the ride indeed safe and secure, whilst minors between ages 9 to 14 stated that the ride was too petrifying to enjoy.
Incident (1956)[]
On August 3, 1956, a horrifying incident occurred on the roller coaster.
Accordingly, during the second zig-zag which was contained as a part of the track, one of the coasters derailed and flew off the tracks and completely went around 60 feet in the air before smashing into hard concrete, killing three riders (decapitating one) and injuring 6 others, whilst leaving the entire coaster unoccupied for only about 5 minutes before the ride halted.
Ambulances were immediately contacted by visitors, as the dead riders were buried behind the park, while others were safely removed from the coaster and were rushed to the hospital.
Repairing took around 4 - 6 months to complete before the ride reopened on January 9, 1957.
Consisting[]
The ride consists of around 3 loops and 5 zig-zags, with normal drops and movements putted into it.
Closure[]
On September 6, 2008, the ride officially closed permanently due to X Enterprises' fake bankruptcy struggle.
Reopening[]
On July 3, 2021, X Enterprises announced a possible reconstruction and reopening of The X, predicting the opening date to commence in 2022.
Demolition for the old variation of the ride was set to be complete within approximately 3 1/2 weeks, with construction on the new variation to take place at the same spot.
