The Vault is a 2008 American Noir Drama Thriller film written by Lynne Ramsay & Lisa Cholodenko and directed by Lynne Ramsay starring Luke Hemsworth, Michael Angarano, Susan Sarandon, John Goodman, Alfred Molina and Reese Witherspoon.
The film was a box office success and was met with positive reception from critics and audiences.
It was released on September 19th, 2008 and on DVD and Blu-Ray March 12th, 2009.
Plot[]
Edward Quinn works for Billings' Business Transaction Offices which turn out to be embezzeling a large quantity money for Colombian Drug Lord Toni Lombard.
The CEO behind the scheme Bryce Billings discovers Edward has stumbled upon their dirty dealings and orders his execution on a late night shift he is to be working.
However complications arise as a ripped off waitress client Annie James' troublemaker pickpocket son Edmund breaks into the building to steal back the money wrongly taken from his mother.
He and Edward end up locked in Vault 42 which contain all the embezzeled money for Toni Lombard and it is discovered Edward had planned to commit suicide that night anyway with a handgun he smuggled in through customs.
Edward and Edmund find themselves entrapped in the Vault as Bryce Billings and his men desperatley try to get in with a not so happy Toni Lombard flight bound for Los Angeles to resolve the issue himself.
Edward and Edmund within the Vault uncover many dark secrets and the sad tale of a dead woman named Kara Sherman who was indeed Bryce Billings' first wife and the reason he found himself tied into the Colombian Drug Cartel and Mr. Toni Lombard.
Annie James in the meanwhile calls upon the police when Edmund doesn't return home and when they refuse to take action heads for the Billings' Office Building unaware of the large stir she is going to cause.
