Produced by Nelvana for Corus Entertainment and animated by Locksmith Animation (unlike the previous movie), the film was directed by Parker Coyrard and Cohen Reardon, and written by Caleb Part and Joshua de Brabant. The previous film's actors do not reprise their roles nor do they be composed of an uniquely UK-based cast. Instead, they are being voiced by Canadian actors. The film stars Sophie Nélisse as Ruby Gloom; Ian James Corlett as Doom Kitty; Jeni Ross as Iris; Laine MacNeil as Misery; Dustin Milligan as Skull Boy; Frank Marino/Brian Vollmer as Frank and Len; Mark Gatiss as Poe; Priyanshu Chatterjee as Scaredy Bat; and Christian Distefano as Boo-Boo. The film is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2020. Both films are based on the Canadian animated television series Ruby Gloom.
