The Mayhem Of The Music Meister is the musical episode of Batman: Wrath Of The Villains guest starring Neil Patrick Harris as the title character The Music Meister. Also guest star Mark Hamill makes a cameo as The Joker.

Summary[]

After stopping a robbery attempt from The Joker (Mark Hamill), somehow the clown starts singing against his will. They find out it's because of a new villain called The Music Meister (special guest star Neil Patrick Harris) who is now controlling both heroes and villains to sing in this musical special.

Plot[]

The episode starts with The Joker (Mark Hamill), wearing a big white coat over his outfit, robbing a bank and laughing about how he killed hostages after lying about letting them live if they followed his instructions. Batman (Kevin Conroy) arrives but Joker suddenly starts singing while shooting at Batman. Batman catches the bullets but Joker handcuffs himself to Batman and reveals the coat has a bomb. However, The Flash (Grant Gustin) stops the bomb and handcuffs Joker, who is left arrested. Batman still wonders why Joker is singing but finds out Joker can't stop and is against his will. Then, a mysterious man (special guest star Neil Patrick Harris) watches this and quietly reveals himself as The Music Meister. (main theme)

At a U.S. station, Black Manta (Danny Glover), Clock King (John Glover), and Gorilla Grood (voiced by David Sobolov) are stealing weapons but confront Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Black Canary (Katie Cassady), and Aquaman (Alan Ritchson). However, Manta is forced to sing while the heroes and villains do the same. The Music Meister appears and reveals himself as the mastermind behind the singing. He then sings about himself and reveals he has the ability to force people to sing. He reveals his plan to send his satellite to space and so it can hypnotize people into doing his evil bidding. During the song, he reveals that as a child, bullies used to pick on him because he sang in choir but when a metahuman wave hit him, he developed the power to hypnotize people with his singing. However, Batman arrives but Music Meister escapes, freeing the heroes and villains from his mind control. The villains are knocked out while the heroes put in some earbuds to protect them from the mind control.

At an opera, Music Meister plays the piano for a fake audience but is interrupted by Batman. Music Meister then sings "Drives Us Bats" about his annoyed opinion of Batman while getting chased by Batman and breaking a few people out Arkham. They also sing to it.

Then while Batman fights his enemies, Black Canary sings "If Only" about her feelings for Batman. Music Meister likes her singing voice and falls in love with her but she rejects him and goes to save Batman only for Music Meister to knock them out and kidnap them.

At a store called "TB & TB", Music Meister sings "Death Trap" about leaving Batman and Black Canary in a Death Trap while he goes off to complete his plan for world domination. Canary continues the song until Batman manages to make a hole in the floor and they escape. However, Batman asks if the singing was really necessary, only to get a smirk from Black Canary.

At the city's center, Music Meister prepares for the show stopper but sees Batman and Black Canary who are now ready to stop him. Music Meister then sings "The World Is Mine" which makes his audience fight the heroes. During the song, he manages to make people around the world sing. Aquaman restrains Black Canary as Green Arrow prepares to punch her but seems to resist doing it and instead punches Aquaman only to get knocked out by him. She knocks out Aquaman but is captured and hypnotized as well. Batman claims if he is gonna play along to this twisted tune, Canary will have to sing as high as him. However, he gets an idea and pretends to sing along but as soon as Canary sings louder, he grabs the microphone and causes her singing to destroy the stage, freeing people from the mind control. Music Meister admits defeat but activates a device on his chest and explodes into party supplies. However, Barry Allen (The Flash's secret identity) goes on stage and sings "Running Home To You" to Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker), making her and everyone else cry, even Batman cries at this. He then asks her for marriage and she says yes before they kiss and this makes Batman and everyone else clap and cheer for him until the episode ends.
