The Lost Girls is a 1988 American vampire horror comedy film directed by Joel Schumacher and written by Jeffrey Boam and Schumacher himself. The film serves as a sequel to the 1987 horror classic, The Lost Boys.
The film was produced by Richard Donner and Harvey Bernhard.
The film takes place a year after the first film with Micheal, Star, Sam and The Frog Brothers trying to live a peaceful life in Santa Carla, California during a spring break vacation but the arrival of a gang of female vampires and a vengeful David forces them to spring into action once again to save Santa Carla but also protect Star who is somehow related to the female vampire gang.
Jason Patric, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Jamison Newlander, Dianne Wiest, Jami Gertz, Kiefer Sutherland and Bernard Hughes reprise their roles from the first film with Elizabeth Shue, Kathleen Turner, Kim Fields, Heather Langenkamp, Molly Ringwald, Winona Ryder, Josh Brolin, Jessica Tandy, Ralph Macchio, Glenn Close, Bill Paxton, Rob Lowe and George Clooney joining the cast.
The film was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and was released on July 15th, 1988 to very favorable reviews and became a huge box office success like it's predecessor, grossing $77 million dollars worldwide.
