The Legends of Chima Movie 2 is a 2026 animated science fiction comedy drama fantasy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation and Lego A/S System and distributed by Columbia Pictures. Directed by Michael Thurmeier and based on the Lego Legends of Chima toy line, it is the sequel to 2023's The Legends of Chima Movie and the second installment in the Legends of Chima film trilogy. The film stars Ben Schwartz, Kumail Nanjiani, Chloë Grace Moretz, Domhnall Gleeson, Daniel Kaluuya, Spencer Treat Clark, and Hugo Weaving reprise their roles from the first film, with Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, and LaKeith Stanfield voicing new characters. In the film, a black cloud stops Mount Cavora's Chi Falls, so Laval, Cragger, Eris, Worriz, Gorzan, Razar, Rogon, and Bladvic must travel to the Outlands to rescue the eight Legend Beasts, which are the key to restarting Mount Cavora, with help from an exiled Lion named Lavertus.

The Legends of Chima Movie 2 was released in theaters in the United States on June 5, 2026 by Sony Pictures Releasing. The film has received mixed-to-positive reviews and was a commercial success, grossing $667 million worldwide against a $170 million budget and becoming one of the year's highest-grossing animated films. A sequel, Legends of Chima 3, was released on July 7, 2028.

The film closed from theaters on December 8, 2026, grossing $261 million in North America and $406 million overseas for a worldwide total of $667 million.

Critical response[]

The Legends of Chima Movie 2 received generally mixed-to-positive reviews upon release. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 67% approval rating based on 225 reviews. The sites consensus reads, "The Legends of Chima Movie 2 should improve over the original, with more crispier visuals, more consistency in tone, and more fleshed-out humor, even if it still can't get its screenplay away from a little too convoluted". On Metacritic, it has a score of 61 out of 100 based on 46 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film a grade of "A" on an A+ to F scale, the same grade earned by the first film.
