The season began on March 8th, 2012 and ran until February 12th, 2014. The first season had many hiatus’s which were and still are unexplained. The show was green lit for a second season in April. Season two began on March 3rd, 2015 and ran until November 29th, 2016. The second season began to explore F-PID and their origins as well as expand the known universe of the show outside of the town. Multiple episodes of this season led the kids out of town for some of their expeditions. The season also promised to explain what brought the Paranormal to the town, and what brought F-PID into existence.

The third season was green light on March 4th, 2015. Fans would then wait two years before Paradox announced the third season would be fully announced at San Diego Comic Con 2019 alongside ''The Goodberry Conspiracy ''and ''SCP. ''All that is known about the third season is that it will focus around the aftermath of F-PID’s takeover and meeting lot’s of new characters. It is also known that the season will have 25 episodes as Jordan confirmed it on Twitter.

''The third season was confirmed at Comic Con to be about the aftermath of F-PIDs takeover and a Cult that has formed to worship the strange anomalies in the town, which has a personal vendetta against the kids for trying to fight and conceal/destroy the anomalies.

The third season ended with the intentions of a finale (I couldn't think of any new ideas), but was renewed in December 2020 for a fourth and final season. The season would consist of 25 episodes once again, and would follow the kids after forming an official Paranormal Investigation Team and that a museum of the artifacts of past villains would be constructed, much to the dismay of the kids. The seasons true arch was revealed to be of an interdimensional demon named Mathias, and his attempts to invade Dimension 947 (this one).

Ana Dixon confirmed that she would not stop working at the Paradox Network however, and would be an executive producer on SCP Season 2 and that another spin-off was in development.

In January 2020, Paradox Studios announced as a part of their 2021 film slate that a ''Junkyard Kids ''film was in development. Ana Dixon was confirmed to be writer and director, but nothing else was said. Brooke Jordan announced on her twitter that she would Executive Produce the film and that the Paradox Network was developing two or three more films based on their programs slated for the next three years. On Dixon's twitter she said that the movie would not be canon to the series because the series was created in a way where independent stories either could not exist, or had already been explored by '''Macy's Market''' and '''Life is Boring'''.

  +
The season 4 episode Infinite Ikea was confirmed not to connect the show to the SCP universe, despite the Infinite Ikea being an SCP and Ana Dixon being an executive producer on SCP. However, Dixon has stated that she is interested in pursuing a Junkyard Kids SCP crossover.

=== Macy's Market (2014) ===
  +
The show-runner, Ana Dixon announced a spin-off show called ''Macy's Market ''in 2014 to further develop the story of the universe. The show received two seasons of fifteen episodes which revolved around the characters at the grocery store, and the Spaghetti Yeti. The voice actress of Melissa confirmed on Instagram that the main cast of ''The Junkyard Kids ''would make an appearance in the show somehow.
  +
  +
The first season included the main characters in five episodes, and featured them as prominent characters if four of the five. The second season contained six episodes with the main characters, with all six of them having them as prominent characters.
  +
  +
''Macy's Market'' teased the Inferno-Cream episode with it's episode ''Special Delivery, ''(SE 2 EP 9) where the stores products possessed by strange properties.
  +
  +
The show ran for four seasons before being cancelled in 2020. Any remaining plot threads were resolved in The Junkyard Kids, and two characters moved over to Life is Boring.

=== Life is Boring (2021) ===
  +
Ana Dixon confirmed in December 2020 that she and her team were developing another ''The Junkyard Kids ''spin-off. This show would take place in a standard office and would follow that characters as they react the events of seasons 2 and 3 as well as how a company in the most destructive and paranormal town in the country manages to keep its investors happy. The main cast of the series confirmed that they would have little roll in the series, but would be happy to take part in it.
  +
  +
The show ran for one season of twenty episodes and expanded on the lore of the town and F-PID.
  +
  +
In an interview with Variety before the Life is Boring pilot, Dixon said she wished that Macy's Market received a fifth season, stating that she had hopes of doing major crossovers between the three shows. The shows characters made only one major appearance in The Junkyard Kids, in the Season 4 episode Virus.

Overview

The Junkyard Kids was the second show to air on the Paradox Network, the first being The Legend of Zelda. The show was about a group of kids who lived in a Junkyard and dealt with a Paranormal Town on the daily basis.

The show was proposed to Brooke Jordan by Ana Dixon, who had already fully written the first three episodes. Jordan decided to green light the project for a 21 episode season. The first season would get universal praise. The first season was based around exploring mysteries inside the town, and an alternate dimension inside a mirror nick-named the ‘Other’ The season began establishing the towns existence, characters, and the federal police force known as F-PID.

The third season was greenlit on March 4th, 2015. Fans would then wait two years before Paradox fully announced at San Diego Comic Con 2019 alongside The Goodberry Conspiracy and SCP. The third season was confirmed at Comic Con to be about the aftermath of F-PIDs takeover and a Cult that has formed to worship the strange anomalies in the town, which has a personal vendetta against the kids for trying to fight and conceal/destroy the anomalies.

In January 2020, Paradox Studios announced as a part of their 2021 film slate that a Junkyard Kids film was in development. Ana Dixon was confirmed to be writer and director, but nothing else was said. Brooke Jordan announced on her twitter that she would Executive Produce the film and that the Paradox Network was developing two or three more films based on their programs slated for the next three years. On Dixon's twitter she said that the movie would not be canon to the series because the series was created in a way where independent stories either could not exist, or had already been explored by Macy's Market and Life is Boring.

Spin-Offs

Macy's Market (2014)

The show-runner, Ana Dixon announced a spin-off show called Macy's Market in 2014 to further develop the story of the universe. The show received two seasons of fifteen episodes which revolved around the characters at the grocery store, and the Spaghetti Yeti. The voice actress of Melissa confirmed on Instagram that the main cast of The Junkyard Kids would make an appearance in the show somehow.

The first season included the main characters in five episodes, and featured them as prominent characters if four of the five. The second season contained six episodes with the main characters, with all six of them having them as prominent characters.

Macy's Market teased the Inferno-Cream episode with it's episode Special Delivery, (SE 2 EP 9) where the stores products possessed by strange properties.

The show ran for four seasons before being cancelled in 2020. Any remaining plot threads were resolved in The Junkyard Kids, and two characters moved over to Life is Boring.

Life is Boring (2021)

Ana Dixon confirmed in December 2020 that she and her team were developing another The Junkyard Kids spin-off. This show would take place in a standard office and would follow that characters as they react the events of seasons 2 and 3 as well as how a company in the most destructive and paranormal town in the country manages to keep its investors happy. The main cast of the series confirmed that they would have little roll in the series, but would be happy to take part in it.

The show ran for one season of twenty episodes and expanded on the lore of the town and F-PID.
