The Innocents is a 2013 British-American Psychological Supernatural thriller film written by Ray Wright and directed by Alphonso Cuaron starring Emma Stone, Asa Butterfield, Holly Bodimeade, Jeremy Irons, Imelda Staunton, Jude Law, James McAvoy, Michael Caine and Gena Rowlands.
The film is a remake of the 1961 black and white motion picture of the same name which starred Deborah Kerr.
The film is also like it's 1961 original based off the classic story the Turn of the Screw and features in the end credits a memoriam to now deceased actress Deborah Kerr who portrayed Miss Giddens in the original.
The remake is slated for release on February 18th, 2013 worldwide.
Elizabeth Giddens (Emma Stone) is an American Bank teller whose single loving mother has passed away. She abandons her unfulfilling job to take her mother's profession during the turbulent year of 1937 as a Governess which cares for children of absent guardians. She is assigned her mother's last prescribed case of caring for the two troubled children of wealthy Sussex, England bussinessman Thomas Calamos (Jeremy Irons). The two children Miles (Asa Butterfield) and Flora (Holly Bodimeade) come off as two well mannered children who take well to Elizabeth. However the kids change and Elizabeth learns of two ghosts attempting to possess the two children.
