The Good Lion is a 2012 3D American-British-South Africa-Australia computer animated/live-action motion capture comedy drama epic fantasy adventure film directed by Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise, Kelly Asbury, Rob Minkoff, John Stevenson and Mark Osborne, with producer Don Hahn, Bruce Davey, Bruce Berman and Guillermo del Toro and screenplay by Farhad Safinia and Tab Murphy.

The film had starred the voices of Kiefer Sutherland, Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Bale, Idris Elba, Zach Braff, Simon Pegg, Michael Clarke Duncan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, David Wenham, Geoffrey Rush, Rupert Everett, Anthony LaPaglia and Liam Neeson.


Plot

Samson and his wife Gelena give birth to their Cubs, their names were Michael, Sally, Rose, Andrew and Alexander. Samson's son Michael was a bit different, so Samson teaches him how to be like his father.

One day, while they're are exploring, they're cornerd by hyenas lead by Fang Tooth who tried to kill Michael, but Samson scared away the hyenas. A mysterious figure attack his son, but Samson fought it off. As his family escape, Samson get separated by falling off a cliff. It was revealed that the force is Phango, a half blinded leopard.

Soundtrack

The films soundtrack album was released on July 21, 2011 before the film was released. The soundtrack of the film was scored, conducted and composed by Hans Zimmer, John Powell and Mark Mancina with Lorne Balfe and Junkie XL as additional composers.

The vocals for the score were Lebo M, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Lisa Gerrard, Abd El Gadir Salim, Emmanuel Jal and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan with songs by Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Sting, Tina Turner, Oren Waters, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Sarah McLachlan, Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Rusted Root, Garth Brooks and Leona Lewis.
