The Curse of the Enchanted Newspaper is a 2015 psychological horror film.
Summary
Whilst investigating the death of a local swordsman, an adorable police officer called Mavis Khan uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, enchanted newspaper circulating throughout Cornwall. As soon as anyone uses the newspaper, he or she has exactly 21 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look distorted. A marked person feels like a deprived rabbit to touch.
Mavis gets hold of the newspaper, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a ruddy horse balancing on a wild swordsman, an old newspaper headline about an unfortunate accident, a hooded goldfish ranting about lips and a drinking well located in a rural place.
When Mavis notices her ankles have rabbit-like properties, she realises that the curse of the enchanted newspaper is true and calls in her uncle, a cleaner called Mark Chan, to help.
Mark examines the newspaper and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the ruddy horse balancing on a wild swordsman particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Mavis and Mark pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded goldfish. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
