Vengeance is a Sting That Never Goes Away

The Amazing Spider-Man 4 is the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and the fourth installment in the Amazing Spider-Man film series. The film was set to be released on February 3, 2021. It is directed by Matt Reeves, with a screenplay written by him, James Vanderbilt, Juliana Bard, Lana Baumer, and Lizzie Baumgartner from a story by Vanderbilt and Baumer. Marc Webb, who directed the first three prior films, returns as producer.

Following his grueling battles against the Sinister Six, Venom, and then Carnage, Peter Parker attempts to settle back into his version of normal, hoping to take things to the next level with his new girlfriend Mary Jane Watson and rebuilding friendships with Harry Osborn and Curt Connors. However, a vicious new villain, the Scorpion, has barged into the streets of New York with one thing on his mind: revenge and blood! Joined by fellow revenge seeker, Alistair Smythe, now equipped with a powerful suit and a fleet of heavily weaponized Spider-Man-killing robots, Spidey must team with his vicious monstrous rival Venom and the sly and bold Black Cat to protect NYC from havoc.

In 2013, an exceptionally cruel mercenary named Max Gargan attacks a dinner party at a British-American embassy, taking several hostages in order to obtain an unknown mineral to sell to the highest bidder in exchange for weaponry he could use to maximize bloodshed. Just as he guts the host of the party and is about to gun down a crowd, women and children included, he's knocked aside by a streaking figure, revealed to be Spider-Man, who'd come to thwart the robbery. Swiftly dispatching his goons, Gargan dons an experimental exo-apparatus to combat Spidey, giving him the upperhand, but thanks to

Several years later, including one after both Venom and The Black Cat, Peter Parker has been on the road to recovery from his guilt and injuries with help from his new girlfriend Mary Jane Watson and his redeemed best friend Harry Osborn, who he visits during his house arrest sentence, and Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat serves as a occasional ally. Otto Octavius, Alexsei Sytsevich, Quentin Beck, and Carnage are all in custody in Ravencroft Institute following their terrorist plot's failure, while Sergei Kravinov defected and fled back home to Africa. However, Adrian Toomes is still at large as the Vulture, whom has corralled a gang of his own to pull off heists.

Meanwhile, Peter and Mary Jane are on a date at a Italian restaurant, given a surprise greeting by Flash Thompson, back home on leave from the military after a tour. He's home to attend the funeral of his estranged father, whom he despised but notes "I've got a responsibility to my family, even when I don't have the love." He also shares his condolences to Peter over Gwen's death the years prior, but assures Peter she'd be happy he'd moved on with his life. Peter then sees a news report on the restaurant's TV that Vulture is enacting a heist on an Oscorp freight train
