The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a 2014 American Superhero Action film written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargeant and Steve Kloves and directed by Daniel Alfredson starring Andrew Garfield, Aaron Ashmore, Emma Stone, Michael Masse, Matthew Macfadyen, Bob Koskin, Alicja Bachleda, Sarah Paulson, Emily Deschanel, Tinto Brass and Sally Field.

The film serves as a direct to sequel to Marc Webb's 2012 American Superhero Action film the Amazing Spider-Man and both films respectively are based off the comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The film was released worldwide on May 24th, 2014 in IMAX Theatres and normal theatres.

Plot

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) A.K.A. Spider-Man finds himself juggling a relationship with the now head of Oscorp's Biology Department Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) despite having promised her father before he died he would leave her out of his life, dangling a slippery slope with worried frantic Aunt May (Sally Field) who begins to click onto Peter's nightly activities, the increasing crime rate sweeping through Manhattan, the arrival of a dominant crime boss Wilson Fisk (Bob Hoskin) who likes to title himself the Kingpin and a freelance job he takes at the Daily Bugle taking pictures of himself for discriminating articles.

More problems arise as Peter and Gwen are fast approaching the end of Midtown High in comes the rich mysterious new student Harry Osborn (Dane Dehaan) who is constantly overshadowed by his father Norman Osborn (Chris Cooper) who is the CEO and founder of Oscorp.

Harry becomes close friends with Pete and Pete begins to learn the shocking truth behind his parent's deaths and shortly following Norman in a desperate act to rid himself of the cancer eating away at him takes a new toxin created by Oscorp which transforms him into the villainous "Green Goblin."

An electrical technician at Oscorp Maxwell Dillon (Jamie Foxx) who is an optimistic caring, hardworking man ready to be married to his gorgeous wife Elizabeth (Sarah Paulson) is struck by lightning at Oscorp in a freak accident and after being fused with electricity and Oscorp toxins he knocks into becomes the shocking villain "Electro."

Finally Spider-Man/ Peter finds himself tangled in a love web as a woman Felicia Hardy (Felicity Jones) after being attacked by criminals belonging to the Kingpin confronts the crime lord and is ultimatley bestowed with unnatural abilities which she puts to villainous use and becomes the sexy but dangerous "Black Cat," one who has her eyes set on the wall crawling, web slinging hero despite him already engaged in a relationship with the beautiful Gwen.

Tragedy comes for Spider-Man as Gwen comes to meet a horrible fate.
