Minecraft: Game Boy Edition is the Game Boy version of Minecraft. It was released on November 8, 1996 for the Game Boy, while it was developed by Mojang and was produced by Null Games. It is also compatible with all other Game Boy systems (except the Game Boy Micro) which are the Super Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Super Game Boy 2, Game Boy Light, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and the Game Boy Advance SP.

An upgraded and colorized version of the game, Minecraft: Game Boy Color Edition, was released on September 13, 1999.

Gameplay[]

The game is very similar to the normal Minecraft, but in black and white only.

Worlds[]

Like every other Minecraft edition, there are worlds. There are two game modes: Survival Mode and Creative Mode. If a name is not picked for the world, the name will be set as "My World". There are three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. A maximum of 50 worlds may be created.

Servers[]

Calendar[]

The calendar can be accessed by the title screen. The player can write notes on each date in the calendar. Some dates (such as December 1, 1995) were marked by one of the developers of the game because that day was important to them. By default, the month and year on the calendar is set to 11/1996 (November 1996) because it was the same month and year the game was released.
