American Island is a large North American island inhabited by new species of mammals, birds and dinosaurs.
Species[]
- Giant Astrid (Astridotherium giganteus) - Astridotherium became one of the largest land mammal ever to walk on the island. They stand 10-15ft tall, bigger than a beaked whale. Even though they are omnivores, they are mostly herbivores that eat berries, plants, but can even eat carcasses of other large animals. They are actually gentle giants. They are named after Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon.
- San Diegosaurus (Diegosaurus montarius) - Named after a city in California, the San Diegosaurus is a theropod the size of a pig, they are omnivores hunting large creatures, eating fruit, berries and nuts.
- American Ape (Gorilla americanum) - The origins of this large ape is a mystery, but we know it's a recent animal in American Island, new on the block. Most of my team suspects that it may be descended from a silverback gorilla. Essentially a gorilla-like primate, they are rare and only dangerous if threatened, especially the alpha male. American apes live in family groups, led by one senior male, several younger males, a harem of females, and their offspring. They also live in the trees.
