TV6 Nature is a British international television channel owned by international mass-media conglomerate, TV6 Nature Media Group.

this channel primarily broadcasts nature documentaries and launched on May 3, 1994.

History

As a female channel (1994-1998)

In 1994 Kinnevik started TV6 as a complement to TV3. The new channel was then profiled as "the female channel".

Mixing the program that the channel aired were the American talk show Ricki Lake, healthcare programs, feature films and various miniseries and seed operators countries The Young and the Restless, and Dynasty. A few individual productions were also made in the channel, a bland other program Much more men, where easily dressed Swedish men showed up. Channel manager during this time was Brita Sohlberg. During the day, a shopping channel named TVG was shown on the same channel as TV6. The channel had hallucinations as presenter programmers.

In 1996 Kinnevik started the new channel Sportkanalen which was broadcast on TV6's program during the weekends. The fact that the Sport channel started to broadcast in-built controversy between Kinnevik and Telia, which temporarily removed the channel from its range with the content changed.

TV6 also had a Danish sister channel with similar offerings. In 1996, TV6 Denmark merged with ZTV Denmark to form 3+. Kinnevik had plans for a time to merge Swedish ZTV and TV6, as well as Sportkanalen to a Swedish version of 3+, but these plans were never implemented.

In 1997, Sportkanalen and TVG were closed down.

TV6 (1998-present)

TV6 Nature/Action World (1998-2000)

On February 2, 1998, the channel changed its direction and became a pay channel that broadcasted nature programs 6:00 pm to 09:00 pm and action series and films 09:00 pm to 12:00 am.

The programming service were named TV6 Nature World and TV6 Action World.

At the end of the 1990s, Nickelodeon, who had previously shared channel space with ZTV, began broadcasting on TV6 channel space during the daytime. (5:00 am to 06:00 pm)

TV6 Nature/Action (2000-2005)

In 2000, TV6 Nature/Action World was renamed to TV6 Nature/Action.

In 2003, 1,784,000 Swedes were able to see the channel (21% of the population, Source: MMS). In total, the Swedes watched the channel on average 0.6 minutes daily.

TV6 Nature/Crime (2005-2015)

The content on TV6 Action was gradually shifted to include more crime series such as Law & Order and CSI. This strand was therefore rebranded into TV6 Crime on October 1, 2005.

On February 1, 2007, Nickelodeon was removed from the channel and TV6 Nature's broadcasts expanded significantly. TV6 Nature then sent at 06:00 am to 08:00 pm and TV6 Crime took over from 08:00 pm to 12:00 am.

TV6 Nature logo (2010-14)

On November 10, 2015, TV6 Nature Media Group and Viasat made some changes to its channel offering in connection with the launch of a special premium channel for tv series, the Viasat Series. In connection with this change, TV6 Crime was defunct. Some of the channel's offerings were moved to Viasat Series and TV8. At the same time, TV6 Nature received an extended transmission time, 06:00 am to 12:00 am.

TV6 Nature (2015-present)

On April 30, 2018, TV6 Nature became a 24-hour television channel.
