star wars: episode VIII-rise of the light is the eighth instalment of the star wars film franchise. directed by Rian Johnson and staring mark Hamill, Carrie fisher, Adam driver, daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, john Boyega, Andy Serkis, Domhall Gleeson, Laura dern, and benicio del Toro. it is regarded as the first film that connected the lucasfilm universe. The films is dedicated to Carrie Fisher's memory "To Carrie, A princess, a hero, A friend"

Plot

Taking place after the events of Episode VII Rey is training with Luke to advance her skills in the force. through out the film he has flashbacks to his Jedi order being wiped out as Snoke seduced Kylo and a few of the other students to the dark side and tasked them with killing everyone. Luke and a few others survived, including a young Rey who was subsequently left on Jakku by Luke, while her mother is presumed dead.

Meanwhile Finn wakes up on a Resistance cruiser and is told by Poe that they're already end route to the makeshift Republic home world in the wake of the capital planet being blown up by Star killer Base.

Leia is trying to Get the Republic to go to war but the interim dictator Vikram Von is against it since there are many problems that need to be fixed. Leia and Vicar butt heads over it and says that leia is letting her emotions get to personal to which leia Rebukes him. Leia sends Finn, Poe and BB-8 on a mission to locate a spy on Coruscant with help from Leia's contact, Chala.

Meanwhile, Rey soon finds out about her mother and confronts Luke about it to which he reveals that Rey is Luke's daughter and the granddaughter of both Darth Vader, and Obi-wan Kenobi. Luke upon revealing this warns Rey that She could end up becoming the next darth Vader. Soon Rey has a force vision where she converses with Anakin and Obi-wan who agree to help.

Meanwhile With Finn, Poe, Chala, and BB-8 They find a lead the leads them to a casino Run Where they get taken to the owner who turns out to be Lando Calrissian. After explaining he agrees to help them and lead them to a space pirate who knows something about it.

They meet Mara Jade, and her hand valvark, a Shistavanen mercenary, who joins for personal reasons. They Soon run into a squadron of First order Troopers and are in a fire fight when suddenly Mara sudenly whips out a lightsaber revealing herself to be a jedi. when they escape she tells her backstory that she helped luke orginize everything but lost her daughter when Kylo ren betrayed everyone. Finn asks her daughter's name to which Mara responds Padme Reyla Skywalker.

​Soon they find out the spy is Vikram Von's aide who allows himself to be captured. at the base Vikram Von is questioned when the First order attack And Finn, Poe, Leia, Chala, and Lando are captured, Mara and Valvark escape and set out to find help.

​Meanwhile Rey senses the trouble and Demands Luke help her to which He responds about yoda's warning and how when he left it caused pain and saying that he was not yoda and that a parent always goes with a child.

Soon Kylo starts torturing finn because he helped cause his father's death and having snoke force to kill Han solo. Soon however a sizmic event causes the power of the Resistance base to fail allowing leia, Finn, Poe, and Chala to escape.

With Mara and Valvark they run into Luke, Rey and chewbaca and Luke and Tharicia recognize each other to which Rey realizes She's her mother and the three plan an attack.

Soon they sneak inside and locate the others, after a reunion for Luke and Leia they start to attack the first order from within their own ships under the guise of Prisoners.

Soon they attack, in the chaos Rey Luke and Mara engage Kylo in battle which end with Rey's arm getting severed and Luke and Mara stoping to defend her Which Kylo in his rage accidently kills leia upon realizing he murdered his mother and realizing what he has become, throws down his saber and surrenders.

Soon The resistance is stronger and planing a counter attack with Kylo under Constant watch and Rey with a new Mechanical forearm with aid from her mother continues her training with luke.

in a midcredit scene snoke is angered at kylo and when he's about to kill hux a stranger in a black hat and coat appears and offers a proposition from another world.
