Sonic the Hedgehog is a American 2D/3D animated children's television series, produced by Rainbow S.P.A and Warner Bros Inc. Based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise created by SEGA, the series is the second animated television series based on the franchise.
The series premiered in Febuary 2001. The Sonic Game which the series is based on is Sonic the Hedgehog Game Trilogy which is evident that the series is similar to elements from AOSTH, SatAM, Underground, X, Boom, and Prime which is evident by the animation in the TV Series uses as the cutscenes for the games in animation used in the tv series which is taken from the previous game.
Plot[]
Sonic and his anthromorphic allies trying to coexist alongside human beings on there home planet Mobius while also having to contend with the growing regime of the vile Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.

Sonic the Hedgehog made it's worldwide debut on Kids WB on Febuary 2nd 2003. 52 episodes have been ordered for Season 1 and they will air on Kids WB throughout 2003.
Characters[]
- Sonic the Hedgehog (Voiced by Josh Keaton) - is a blue hedgehog with the gift of super speed. He's a carefree spirit who finds joy in fighting for justice and freedom. When he's not constantly battling Doctor Eggman and his evil empire, he has to deal with the fact that Mobians like him are not able to coexist with human beings. At the end of the day he will do whatever is necessary to save the world.
- Miles "Tails" Prower (Voiced by Grey DeLisle) - is Sonic's most loyal partner and has a very high intellect. He is pure of heart and is not afraid to stand by his friends and help out in any way he can. He might be the only one Mobian capable of matching or even surpassing Doctor Eggman in terms of brain power.
- Knuckles the Echidna (Voiced by Sam Riegel) - is a friendly rival of Sonic as well as the sole guardian of Angel Island and the Master Emerald. He is a tough and wild treasure hunter who enjoys action. Despite this, he considers defending his home as his number one priority He's also quick to anger and has plenty of strength, which can make for a dangerous combination.
- Amy Rose (Voiced by Shannon Chan Kent) - is a longtime friend of Sonic who harbors a crush on him. She is a level headed strategist and confident fighter, but she can be also quite tempermental. Her Piko Piko Hammer is the most dangerous weapon arsenal.
- Cream the Rabbit (Voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) - is an innocent kid with a positive attitude. She was raised by her mother vanilla to be polite and isin't usually one to throw a punch. But after Dr. Eggman's constant attack on the planet, she recived a bit of training from Amy and Big. Her closest friend is Cheese, her pet Chao.
- Cheese the Chao (Voiced by Frank Welker) - is Cream's pet and close friend she flies and spins into a ball when to attack.
- Big the Cat (Voiced by Kenoe Young) - is a wise Mobian adventurer who lives up to his name. He was morbidly obese as a kitten but lost a little bit of weight as he got older. He babysits cream on a regular basis and usually prefers to stay out of a fight unless there's no other alternative.
- Shadow the Hedgehog (Voiced by Keith David) - Dubbed "The Ultimate Lifeform" Shadow was created by Gerald Robotnik with the DNA of Black Doom and is the end result of project shadow. He was held in captivity for fifty years before Doctor Eggman released him and since then he has become one of Sonic's fiercest rivals, even matching him in terms of speed. He has proven to be rather arrogant and perfers to work alone.
- Rouge the Bat (Voiced by Vanessa Marshall) - is a smart and confident Jewel theif who works as a freelance treasure hunter. She's a caculating realist who always seems to have an ulterior motive. She's trained in combat and has a weakness for jewels. But she still possesses some degree of morality. She is also shadow's closest ally, which says a lot since he's more of a loner.
- E-123 Omega (Voiced by Tom Kane) - was a robot created by Dr. Eggman and a spiritual successor of the E-102 Gamma. Part of the same robot production line in the series He told Shadow that he would defeat him and sealed him in the future. When omega swore revenge on his creator he and Omega made up and they all started looking for Eggman together.
- Vector the Crocodile (Voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson) - is the leader of the Chaoitx Detective Agency. He is an accomplished detective who takes his job very serously. He is the strongest member of his team and can be very aggressive in battle. While having high moral standards, he also has ambitions about getting rich. In addition to his skills, Vector has a short temper that surfaces whenever he feels insulted or annoyed.
- Espio the Chameleon (Voiced by Scott Menvile) - is a member of the Chaotix Detective Agency and excels as a ninja spy. He's a disciplined ninja warrior and a solful character with a no-nonsense attitude. Being a chameleon, he is easily a ninja master of stealth and posseses abilities that can make him undetectable. He is also proficient with several forms of ninja-based weaponry.
- Charmy Bee (Voiced by Candi Milo) - is the youngest member of the Chaotix Detective Agency. He is an immature, loving kid. He has a friendly and cheerful attitude. Which at times annoys his boss Vector. Despite his personality, he is still a powerful asset to the team. He is a fast flyer with a sharp stinger and is strong enough to carry his two teammates at once.
- Silver the Hedgehog (Voiced by Jason Marsden) - is a hedgehog from the future who is determined to defend his home any danger, even if it means going back in time to prevent it. He is even optimistic and naive, which results in him making rushed descisions and getting overexcited. He can also be awkward at times, but will always put a brave face on no matter what.
- Blaze the Cat (Voiced by Jennier Hale) - is a princess from the sol dimension as well as the appointed guardian of the Sol emeralds. She is gifted with pyrokenises and can manipulate fire any way she pleases. She is normally calm and elegant, but also tends to hide her feelings. When she has no shame in being a princess, she'd rather not be to related as such.
- Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (Voiced by Mark Hamil) - is an evil scientist with a seeming less limitless mastery over technology. His goal is to conquer all of mobius make him as his enemy to humans and animals alike. Sonic mocked him during their battles by calling him "Eggman" and the name would stick to the point where it birthed the name of Eggman Empire.

At the time for the first episode airing on Kids WB, the show premiered #1 in it's time slot, gathering over 1.27 million views.
