Rotterdam (Cantonese: 鹿特丹 Jyutping: luk6 dak6 daan1) is a 2018 live-action/animated dystopian action fantasy comedy film co-written, co-produced and directed by Benny Chan and starring Donnie Yen, Shu Qi, Kenny Wong, Ben Yuen, Ray Lui, Eric Kot, Kenneth Tsang, Lars Mikkelsen, Will Yun Lee and Famke Janssen. An international co-production of Hong Kong and China, it is Chan's last film to be released during his lifetime. In the film, General Mok Chi-kong (Yen) and the Resistance go to Rotterdam after winning a lottery, only to be hunted down by several other agency operatives courtesy of property tycoon Andries Twellaar (Mikkelsen), along with the former's childhood heroes.
Produced by Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment, Huayi Brothers, Shanghai Film Group and Choi Ho Productions in association with Tencent Pictures, Sil-Metropole Organisation, One Cool Film Production and Le Vision Pictures for TVB Pearl and the China Movie Channel, Rotterdam premiered in China on 14 August 2018 and was released theatrically in Hong Kong by OSGH five days later. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, it was met with positive reception from audiences and animation fans, and grossed $180 million worldwide against a reported HK$30 million budget, as well as nominated for a Hong Kong Film Award for Best Sound Design, but lost to Operation Red Sea. Its commercial success spawned comic book and video game adaptations by Film City Comics and Orange Sky Golden Harvest Games respectively.
