Romeo: A Dog's Tale is a 2006 American/British/French/German/Australian computer animated film directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise and produced by Don Hahn, Bonnie Arnold, Sam Mercer, and Pam Marsden with executive producers were Stephen Swofford, Adam Schroeder, Zareh Nalbandian, and Rob Sitch. Tab Murphy, Jonathan Roberts, Irene Mecchi, John Collee, John Orloff, Linda Woolverton, Bob Tzudiker, Noni White and David Reynolds served as screenplay with additional writes Bruce Berman, Paul Germain, Joe Ansolabehere, Jonathan Greenberg, and John Landis.

The film stars Michael J. Fox, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (in his first animation debut), Kiefer Sutherland, Emilie de Ravin, Cree Summer, Rachael Taylor, Hugo Weaving, Drew Barrymore, Laurence Fishburne, and Liam Neeson. The story of a young dog who gets abandoned by his owner and help his animal friends to find his owner and bring him home. Development of the film began in 2002, where the animators decided to make a family friendly film with animals. Like Atlantis: The Lost Empire, it didn't feature another musical instead, they feature animals. The production team had began shooting the entire film while it took 4 days to make.

The film was released on April 3, 2006 at El Capitan Theatre, and May 5, 2006 into general release. It also released on May 12, 2006 in the United Kingdom, June 9 in Australia, and July 28 in New Zealand. Distribuited by Buena Vista Pictures and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The production companies were Animal Logic, Rhythm and Hues, and Weta Digital. This also marks the second collaboration with Trousdale, Wise, Fox, and Summer since their first apperance in Atlantis.
