Rise of the Jurassic is 2014 science fiction action adventure film directed by James Cameron. It was the highest grossing film of 2014, despite numerous production delays.

The film boasts an all-star cast, including Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Forest Wittaker, Liam Neeson, Aaron Eckhart and Rihanna as well a soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer.

Production History

Cameron conceived the idea while working on Avatar. He kept it in the back of his mind and finally wrote a rough draft in 2011. Filming began shortly before the film was announced during Cameron's appearance at E3 2012. It was expected to be released near the end of 2013, in late November or early December. However, the film ws then pushed back to February 2014, before being pushed back again to June. The film was finally released on June 29.


A group of astronauts, their ship low on fuel, land on a mysterious, earth-like planet. While exploring, they discover that they do not need their suits while walking on the planet because it's climate is so similar to our own. However, the group then discover that a dinosaur-like species inhabit the planet. After stealing some eggs for research, the crew find themselves in a fight for their lives.
