Return to the Magic Railroad is an upcoming British-American fantasy comedy film written by Josh Klausner, Will McRobb, Chris Viscardi and David Stoten, produced by Tracy Blagdon and Julia Pistor, and directed by Dianna Basso and Shane Acker. The film features the reprising roles of Alec Baldwin as Mr. Conductor, Robert Downey Jr., Ciarán Hinds, Jim Carrey, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, and Jim Broadbent, while returning voice performances are John Hasler and Joseph May as Thomas in the UK and US, Kerry Shale, Keith Wickham, Rob Rackstraw, Christopher Ragland, Nigel Pilkington, Jules de Jongh, Teresa Gallagher, Matt Wilkinson, and Mark Moraghan. New additions are Dominique Moore as Ruth, Joaquin Phoenix, Joe Manganiello and John Stamos. The film is a sequel to Thomas and the Magic Railroad, based on the British children's book series The Railway Series by The Rev. W. Awdry, its televised adaptation Thomas & Friends, and the American television series Shining Time Station by Britt Allcroft and Rick Siggelkow.

Synopsis

Occurred towards the conclusion of World War II, P.T. Boomer and Diesel 10 plot their revenge with help from Baz and Bernie. Along with help from a young inventor named Ruth, Shining Time arcade manager Horace Schemer, and Sir Topham Hatt, Mr. Conductor, Thomas, and all their friends prepare to bring back the magic in its true balance, which leads to their final confrontation with Diesel 10's army.
