RITV (Regional Independent Television) is a television network in Aurora, regulated, and with most of its transmitters owned, by the Commission of Regional Broadcasting Stations (CRBS). It consists of several interdependent independent franchises, each with their own regional identity. It was launched in 1957. Since deregulation in 1989, many companies have merged with each other, and only 4 companies currently run the network franchises: Centrecom Group, Palatine Media, TSMedia, and MediaSkyeland. However, they are legally required to maintain separate regional identities and news programming.
