The Quinkan (Quinkana australiensis) is a species of large terrestrial mekosuchine crocodylian that originally lived in what is now Australia from about 24 million to about 40,000 years ago during the Miocene and Pleistocene and was once extinct, but has since been brought from extinction by SciiFii and introduced to modern Australia to help restore biodiversity and, since the original species of quinkan was native to Australia before humans arrived there, the quinkans were brought back there so they'd keep their own ecological niche. The quinkan is one of the top terrestrial predators of Australia, possessing long legs and ziphodont teeth (lateromedially compressed, recurved, and serrated). The common name, "Quinkan", and the scientific name Quinkana comes from the "Quinkans", a legendary folk from Aboriginal myths. The conservation status of the quinkan is Vulnerable due to some poaching and habitat loss, however, the conservationists are doing their best in protecting the quinkans from going extinct again.
