Quenya is one of the languages spoken by the Elves. The language was developed among those non-Telerin Elves who reached Valinor, also known as the "High Elves", from an earlier language known as the Common Eldarin. Sindarin, however, much like Quenya's simplified form, lasted ages longer being spoken by the Elves, leading it to be referred to by the modern term "Elvish".
The written script alphabet of the Quenya, much like Sindarin and other Elven languages is typically Tengwar, also known as the Fëanorian Characters. Sarati, an older script alphabet, was also used.
