Planet Hulk is a 2018 American Superhero film written by Matt Lieberman and Dax Shepard. Directed by Matt Lieberman it is the ninth instalment of the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and twenty-first entry in the franchise overall. It serves as a sequel to the Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk (2008) and a prequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2018) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).

It stars Mark Ruffalo, Lauren Graham, Tim Blake Nelson, Brady Corbet, Britt Robertson, Abigail Spencer and Christopher Plummer.

Released theatrically and in IMAX theatres on November 11th, 2018 to positive reception and a box office success.

Plot

Following Bruce's 2008 defeat of the Abomination, he is tricked into a sting operation by then fiance Betty Ross in Las Vegas, where her father General Ross is monitoring the corrupt Lillipad Gamma Casino proprietor Gomido whose enforcer may be a Gamma radiation infused individual. Sure enough Bruce as the Hulk becomes locked in a battle against Gomido's monster bodyguard the Bi-Beast, an infusion of two identical twins.

Following the destruction of the battle on the order of government accords monitoring following the Segovia Ultron battle, General Ross and Betty sign Bruce over to a dispatch program, that becomes hijacked by S.H.I.E.L.D. operative Black Widow who directs him towards Thor and Asgard to reconvene. The ship is however damaged by the following assailant Moonstone and he ultimately crashes on the planet Xantar.

Xantar's alien race has been enslaved by former human scientist Samuel Sterns who after being infected with the Gamma radiation in 2008 has become the telekinetic, telepathic hulking creature entitled Leader. With his former secretary Moonstone by his side and the rogue Xantar alien Amphibian they have conquered the planet, preparing to lure Hulk here. The planet holds the natural chemicals that Earth has since evolved to adopt that grants them their radioactive abilities and visages. Betty and Thaddeus come to Xantar to Bruce's aid and ultimately betray him out of a deal for the safety of Earth, resulting in his imprisonment.

Moonstone releases Hulk after a short battle and sets him into the Xantar coliseum with a resistance army and they storm the Xandar Imperial Citadel defeating Leader, General Ross who had been turned by Sterns into the Red Hulk and Amphibian. Betty with Bruce, Richard Jones/A-Bomb and Moonstone's assistance is able to reverse General Ross, Bruce and Betty finally parting his ways as he mentions his love for a fellow avenger of earth.

A first of two post-credits scenes shows Uatu the last survivor of an attack by an unseen Galactus comes across a space ship The Doomsayer, with four scientists: Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, Susan Storm and Benjamin Grimm who Uatu with his last burst of energy mixed with an oncoming cosmic storm hits the ship.

The second post-credits scene returning to pack up at his old destroyed home Bruce encounters his cousin Jennifer Walters, while Moonstone and A-Bomb are waiting outside. Jennifer begins to become She-Hulk.
