Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt: Colon Movie Film for Theaters is a 2017 American/Japanese adult anime adventure fantasy comedy film based on the 2010 anime of the same name. Distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures and produced by Annapurna Pictures, First Light Productions and DIXAR, it was theatrically released in the United States on July 7, 2017. The film was directed by the same two people that directed Sausage Party, Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, while being co-directed by Kathryn Bigelow, produced by Bigelow, Mark Boal and Megan Ellison and written by Boal. The film is rated R by the MPAA for pervasive language, sexual content, and some bloody images. A Japanese version of the film is set to released in 2018.
