Over the Hedge II is a 2024 American computer-animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. The sequel to 2006's Over the Hedge, it was directed by Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick and written by Kirkpatrick and Michael McCullers. Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, William Shatner, Avril Lavigne, Eguene Levy, and Catherine O'Hara reprise their roles, with Jason Sudeikis and Patton Oswalt replacing Bruce Willis and Garry Shandling from the first film. They are joined by new characters voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, Vin Diesel, Kelly Macdonald, and Idris Elba. Set one year after the events of the film, the film centers on RJ, Verne, Hammy, and the gang, whose quest to foil the plans by the new President of Home Owners' Association to tear down the remaining forest for future housing development brings them to a rocky mountain where they meet a group of carefree forest animals led by a wise old owl.
