Plot
Jessica Chastain has been chosen to co-host the The Academy Awards alongside James Corden after the previous host was injured in a skiing accident. During the weekend of the Oscars on Friday night, she decides to have a last minute rehearsal and calls all the presenters and music artists in to come to the Dolby Theatre to rehearse, while dressed in their formal wear for Sunday. As they begin to rehearse, Mel Gibson, one of the Best Director nominees, walks in and decides to practice his Oscar speech but the lights go for a 30 seconds and then go back on, only to find Mel Gibson impaled by a knife lying dead. This causes hysteria among the presenters and singers as the theater’s WIFI has been disconnected and the theater’s entrance door is locked, leaving them all trapped in the theater. Realizing that the murder was planned from the beginning, they must solve the mystery on who amongst the group is the killer and go deep into how far who planned this goes while being picked off one by one.
