Moonight Symphony is an English Symphonic Gothic Metal band active since 1992. They have released 6 studio albums, 2 EPs and 1 Live album. They are currently singed to Dark Catacombs Records.
History[]
The band was formed in 1988 by Alexander Davey (Vocals & Bass) and his friends Mark Kinney (Guitars), Karly Frost (Vocals) & Brandon Benner (Drumms), later the same year, the keyboardist Mitch Chambers joined the band, consolidating the line up.
The band's lyrics focuse mainly on Anti Christianity, Darkness, Vampires, Black Magic, Sexual Abuse and Morbid themes, also they have shown to sing about Horror Movies in some songs from they later era. (2005 - Present).
Influences[]
The band have been strongly influenced by gothic rock acts such as Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Christian Death and Skeletal Family and they have also been inspired by bands like Black Sabbath, Death, My Dying Bride, Cradle of Filth and Type O Negative, Davey has stated that one of his main influences has been the Alternative Metal/Gothic Rock band Marilyn Manson and Rock band Queen.
