It has also been translated into other languages for those of other cultures who follow the faith as well. The Wanyu and Sinjok-eo translations of the prayer came into use increasingly during the reign of the Lin dynasty, especially more so following the ''Fragmentation of the Gergazartan Khaganate'' and the independence of the Lin dynasty. Even with a large sum of the country converted to the faith, the Zerlegkhel language version of the prayer remained the official version, used by the imperial family and those in and around the capital; the Wanyu and Sinjok-eo translations were used by the peoples further from the capital, where the influence of Arslan culture and the imperial family weren't as strong.

Mongolmal (ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯᠤᠮᠠᠯꡏꡡꡃꡂꡡꡙꡏꡙ) is the religion of the Arslan, Tukhii and Bogino peoples of northern Marlakcor, named for Mongol, their chief deity.

While primarily practiced by the ethnic groups of the Marlakese north, it is also practiced by a minority of Wanzu, Sinjok and Genjin, mostly descendants of whom were converted to it during the reign of the Arslan-ruled Lin dynasty or the failed Arslan Invasions of Fuso.

Core Beliefs

Prayer

The Mongolmal prayer, referred to as Tengeriin Sergiilel (ᠲᠩᠷᠢ ᠶᠢᠨᠰᠡᠷᠭᠡᠶᠢᠯᠡᠯ/ꡈꡠꡃꡠꡘꡦꡋꡛꡠꡘꡂꡦꡙꡠꡙ/Heaven's Warning). It warns of straying away from justice and giving into corruption, stresses the importance of guiding one's children, and prophetically tells of a second coming of Mongol, who will appear in a time of great turmoil

It has also been translated into other languages for those of other cultures who follow the faith as well. The Wanyu and Sinjok-eo translations of the prayer came into use increasingly during the reign of the Lin dynasty, especially more so following the Fragmentation of the Gergazartan Khaganate and the independence of the Lin dynasty.

The Genjingo translation of the prayer came into being following the settlement of Arslan peoples in eastern Fuso following the failed Second Arslan Invasion of Fuso.

Believed to be deities separate from the traditional gods and other deities, they are the guardians and divine governors of Marlakcor, and are also known as wardens of their spiritual direction and lords of a season. Each also represents one of the five elements; the exception is earth.

Each divine beast is individually dedicated in an separate temple in the Sisheng Chengshi around Marlakcor. There is also a main temple dedicated to all four located in the city of Shenling in Tianchao.

Zurkhai

The Zurkhai (ᠵᠢᠷᠤᠬᠠᠢꡕꡟꡱꡁꡖꡞ), also called the Zodiac, the worship of twelve animals in a sequence, is a facet of Mongolmal incorporated from Wan faith, although the Arslan version replaces Tiger and Dragon with a Leopard and Crocodile respectively.

Followers believe that the members of the Zurkhai take turns overseeing the cosmos in a 12-year cycle, and thus each year is named for that particular animal.

Notes & Trivia

  • The Tiger and Dragon are replaced with a Leopard and Crocodile in the Arslan version of the Zodiac.
  • The founder of the Lin dynasty interpreted the prophetic part of the prayer as coming true, seeing himself as the hero who would bring order back to a land plagued by chaos and near-constant war for decades, thus allowing him to claim the Mandate of Heaven.
