Millicent Madison Lane is a 2011 American Drama film written and directed by Nicole Kassell starring Kate Hudson, Javier Bardem, Hayden Panettiere, Laramie Eppler, Olga Kurlyenko, Lee Pace, Chris Pratt, Nicholas Hoult, Alexis Knapp, Lily Collins, Preston Strother, Bailee Madison and Morgan Freeman.

The film secured an Emmy Award For Best Drama and two Emmy Nominations For Best Leading Actress: Kate Hudson and Best Young Star: Laramie Eppler.

The film is told through the narratives of three characters and perspectives which seem to represent three different sub-emotions.

Kate Hudons' lead character Millicent Gorm story is that of Love, Hayden Panettiere's character Madison Gorm is that of Confusion and Laramie Eppler's character Lane Gorm is that of Grief.

The film was released theatrically on August 24th, 2011 and was met with good reviews by critics and audiences.

The film was released on DVD and Blu-Ray disc on November 29th, 2011.

Plot

The film first begins with an prologue told by Millicent, Madison and Lane Gorm who discuss their family and the tragedy that tore their family apart.

The film then jumps onto the chronicling of mother Millicent Gorm (Kate Hudson) who has recently seperated from her children's father and her husband Gavin Gorm (Luke Evans) as he was physically and verbally abusive due to his drinking problem and his own tragic upbringing.

Millicent however still holds onto the memory of her once upon a time love for him and finds herself unable to file for divorce of completely bar him away from her family despite the restraining order filed against him.

Her extremely concerned bestfriend Roberta Tim (Olga Kurylenko) who has been her life-long friend since she was six years old sets her up with a hopeless romantic writer from her editing company, the charming and deeply sensitive Albert Wenne (Javier Bardem) of whom falls deeply in love with her despite Millicent's refusal of his love.

She eventually comes to fall for him after he saves her from a group of Gavin's buddies who attempt to attack her in a parking lot whilest they are under the influence of alcohol.

We are then taken secondly through the chronicles of daughter Madison Gorm (Hayden Panettiere) who repressed by mother, traumatically affected by her father begins to see a string of nasty boyfriends and builds a reputation as a harlet when she begins to engage in sexual intercourse with alot of the boys she sees and becomes the party do-girl.

She loses all her respective friends and upon entering a relationship with a nice boy whilest drunk accidentally cheats on him and loses the relationship which devastates her.

She however leaves her state of confusion realizing her younger brother Lane Gorm (Laramie Eppler) is in desperate need of her attention and love as their mother finds herself wallowing away with her depression until she comes to fall for Albert.

We then are finally chronicled through the life of Lane Gorm and him struggling to connect with his girlfriend, an education at Middletown Elementary and remaining a good friend to his bestfriend Charlie (Preston Strother) after his friend Hampton (Dawson Dunbar) perished before his eyes in a terrible car accident.

The film concludes with an epliogue where Millicent finalizes her divorce and finds herself engaged to Albert and her, Albert, Madison and Lane in a meeting with local psychologist they've all been sharing Dr. Harslow Garrett (Morgan Freeman) who they thank for his services and inform this will be their last session.
