Mia Pine is a fictional character created by Steven Moffat and portrayed by Kate Bracken in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. First appearing in the show's ninth series, Mia serves as a companion of the twelfth incarnation of the alien time traveller known as the Doctor (portrayed by Peter Capaldi).

Mia Pine is introduced in the first episode of the ninth series (2015), "Scary", as a young journalist living in London. Mia has continuous dreams of seeing a mysterious blue box in a field, but chooses to ignore them. As a young girl on a field trip with her school in the hills. Lying around the fields with nature buzzing around her, a few of her classmates were gossiping nearby. Mia then suddenly began to hear wheezing and groaning. Following the sound, she found a mysterious blue box that was just stood in the middle of the field. She approached and knocked on the door, but she was called away by her teacher before she can see what was inside. When she eventually meets the Doctor, eight years have passed and Mia is twenty-four years old.
