Risico Poster

Risico is the upcoming twenty-fourth James Bond film produced by Eon Productions. It will be distributed by MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2013. It will feature Daniel Craig in his fourth performance as James Bond, and Thomas Kretschmann as the film's antagonist. The film is being directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan. 

On July 11, 2013 it was confirmed that the creative crew from Skyfall is returning: Daniel Craig is returning as Bond, Sam Mendes is returning as director, and John Logan is returning as screenwriter. The film received UK and US release dates of October 23, 2013 and November 6, 2013, respectively.

The film is based on Raymond Benson's 1999 novel "High Time to Kill". A microfilm containing the most important military secret of the century, codenamed 'Risico'. has been stolen. The lethal organisation Quantum has claimed responsibility. But when the plane carrying the microfilm crashes. 007 must find it before it's too late.

Mendes was approached to direct another film after the release of Skyfall in 2012. The original screenwriter, John Logan, worked alone on the script as Purvis and Wade had left after Skyfall. Filming began in November 2013 and primarily took place in the United Kingdom, Nepal and Belgium.

Risico will premiere in London at the Royal Albert Hall on 23 October 2013 and will be released in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2013 and the United States on 9 November 2013. It will the second James Bond film to be screened in IMAX venues, although it was not filmed with IMAX cameras. 

Plot

After one of Quantums' agents assassinates James Bond’s (Daniel Craig) friend and host at a dinner in the Bahamas, Quantum becomes MI6's top priority target. When information vital to Britain’s national security is stolen, both M (Ralph Fiennes) and Bond suspect that Quantum is behind it. The trail leads Bond from Brussels to an expedition up the icy heights of the legendary mountain Kangchenjunga, the third tallest peak in the world. Led by an abrasive mountaineer Roland Marquis  (Thomas Kretschmann), aided by the expedition’s professional mountaineer Lisl Baum (Rebecca Ferguson) and opposed by an unknown traitor working out of MI6 itself.
