Malfunction is a 2006 American Action fantasy film written by Christopher Landon and directed by D.J Caruso starring Chris Evans, Johnny Depp, Mark Ruffalo, Ryan Kelley, Camilla Belle, Jamie Bell. Gemma Arterton and Kat Dennings.
The film was a commercial success and secured an Oscar Nomination for Cinematoprahy and Won 2 Golden Globes 1. Best Actor: Johnny Depp and 2. Best Supporting Actor: Ryan Kelley.
The film is set in a dystopian future which was shot on location at Warner Bros studios.
The film was released theatrically on May 29th, 2006.
Plot[]
Set in the year 2099 an evil tattooed tyrant Lecretia Boriallis (Johnny Depp) rules over the wasteland which is now North America, he is in association with an organization of evil tyrant known as the Firm who also have leaders controlling all other countries of the world and all continents in themselves controlled by the organizations' anonymous CEO titularly titled D.
Much of the population who rebelled against the Firm's take-over have been extermined and the rest kept as slaves, apart from a handful of rebels who cannot be erased by the Firm's strange, advanced technology.
The immune rebels are lead by former Chicago Tax Accountant Billington Aimes (Chris Evans) and his former chemist brother George (Mark Ruffalo), younger high school nerd brother Anthony (Ryan Kelley) and musician sister Drew (Kat Dennings), Ryan's romantic interest Diana (Camilla Belle) and her pyromaniac brother Michael (Jamie Bell).
