The Magus is a moniker for human beings that, like their distant cousin race Sorcerers/Sorceresses, has the ability to affect changes via magic but possess more superior physiology then either them or regular humans. Unlike their cousins however, the Magus are regarded more like a sub-species of human race due to the said superior physiology that made them more dangerous than Sorcerers/Sorceresses. No one knows how many the numbers of their population is now, but it was suggested that majority of magus are located in Europe, especially in Scotlandia, and their number presumed at least first quarter of mankind's population.

Due to their deadly capacities, maguses whom often involved with fight or war had to wear mask to conceal their identity. If a Magus (sometimes referred to as a "Magi" for the individual members of their race) born from parent whom one of them are human, they called half-Magus. Had a magus had one of their parent being a Sorcerer/Sorceresses instead regular human or a magus that happened to be a descendant of Sorcerers/Sorceresses, their magical powers would surely surpassed either.

Physiology, Powers, and Appearance

Magus possesses appearance that close to, if not identical with normal humans and their cousin Sorcerers/Sorceresses. Unlike normal humans or Sorcerer/Sorceresses however, maguses are able to live longer and aged at slower rate. This was possibly due to their regenerative abilities that decelerate their aging process, albeit their puberty stage and growth rate still same with humans'.

The following powers that they share with Sorcerers/Sorceresses are:

  • Full Brain Capacity:  All maguses, without any exceptions, are born with the ability to use their entire brain at one time like Sorcerers/Sorceresses, giving them potential in using sorcery.
  • Supernatural Affinity: Maguses gained affinities from supernatural forces around them that enable them to perform various sorcerous tricks that more than just manipulating matters like seeing the past, manipulating shadows, etc.
  • Peak Human Physiology: The said Maguses' enhanced brainpower appeared to enhanced their physical capabilities into the peak level beyond the normal humans'even if they not properly trained. The following enhanced abilities are:
    • Enhanced Speed and Agility: Magueses are shown being faster than normal humans as well as more agile.
    • Enhanced Durability: Maguses appeared to possesses more resistant harm than normal human does.
    • Enhanced Strength: Maguses' strength appeared to possess greater ease when they physically exert themselves.
    • Enhanced Intelligence: The most drastic effect on their full brain capacity was their IQ was enhanced to the point where they became more skillful in calculation.

However, the following powers that possesses by magus alone are:

  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Magus heal faster than the normal humans, especially when exposed to element that they greatly grasp with. Their healing factor also enable them to regrow lost/damaged tissues, organs and limbs, and decelerate aging process. Though regenerative healing factor that possessed by magus more superior than vampires', this healing ability still has it's limitations: Maguses can be easily killed by decapitation and complete destruction of the brain (hinted due to headshots that damage partial sections of the brain stated only immobilize them). Not only that, their vital organs, includes heart, possesses the lowest regeneration rate compared with reat of their body. Had these vital organs impaled too long by sharp objects like stake, they will die via bloodloss.
  • Vampirism Immunity: All magus has genetic code that immune to dark bacteria that induced vampirism. It means, no matter how they infected by vampirism, magus won't mutate into one of them. But this made magus as natural enemies for vampires however, as they are only known kind of human whom not affected with vampirisim that needed to propagate their kind.
  • Mentifery: In rare cases (which is 1 per 10), there's a chance that magus' brainpowers enable them to warp reality based on their own image, includes manifests and control any objects/things that symbolized either their repressed thoughts or pain that they had in their lifetime.
  • Whitelight Magic: Immense magical powers that only possessed by Maguses alone. With this, they can manifests body armor-like exoskeleton out of combination between their own body cells and mystical energy from their own body.

Ironically, the females of the Magus race possesses elongated canines like vampires, though all Magus prefers carving in human food and dislikes blood.

Trivia

  • Though the Magus could be comparable to wizardkind from the Harry Potter franchise, the magus are more comparable with the Ghouls from Tokyo Ghoul series or mutants from the X-Men franchise due to their superhuman capabilities.
