The Magnaguards are the elite forces of the Sith Legion
The IG-100 MagnaGuard, or Self-Motivating Heuristically Programmed Combat Droid, was an advanced type of robot that was manufactured by Holowan Mechanicals and used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Ordered by Count Dooku, the MagnaGuards were designed to be General Grievous's personal bodyguards, although they were sometimes seen serving Dooku himself.
The MagnaGuards were commissioned after the InterGalactic Banking Clan refused to hire Grievous's Kaleesh elite after securing his own services as an enforcer, and he demanded a cadre of "more intelligent battle droids" to serve him. All Magnaguards wear capes that can be used as a shield against their enemies.
Weapons[]
Usually, a magnaguard would have an electrostaff. The electrostaff would stun the enemy, and if the enemy was hit with enough energy, then they would be killed by the electricity of the staff.Also, the electrostaff was made of phrik, a lightsaber resieant material A magnaguard's wrists and hands were manufactured so that the droid could twirl the electrostaff effectively using only one wrist. The purple glowing electrostaff is only one type of staff that was introduced to the movies and books. There were also red, yellow, and rarely blue and green. Purple was one of the most powerful.
Characteristics[]
The two-meter tall MagnaGuards carried electrostaffs made from lightsaber-resistant phrik metal, and wore evil capes and cloaks similar to those of Grievous's old Izvoshra elite during the general's time as a Kaleesh warlord. Most MagnaGuards carried an electrostaff, but ranged models were also utilized, often specializing in dedicated weapons such as grenades, Bulldog rifles, RD-4 grenade launchers, and anti-vehicle missile launchers. Other devices and equipment were occasionally used, such as a built-in tow-cable in its arm, a personal cloaking device or magnetized limbs. At least one MagnaGuard was known to have the ability to extend its arm many times its usual length, but it is unknown if other MagnaGuards had this feature as well.
The color of the droid denoted the particular model—black, alabaster, blue, and the rare gray were all spotted throughout the war. The droids were remarkably resilient, compared to other CIS droids. They were capable of surviving decapitation and were able to fight effectively even after such extensive damage, due to a backup photoreceptor in their chests.
They were also capable of speech, and often taunted their opponents. Also these robots have evil glowing red eyes and some magnaguards wore evil sombreros to show these ones are the stronger variants of the magnaguards.
History[]
After Darth Grievous hatched from his Chrysalis he used the dark side to reactivate the Magnaguards and even used his dark powers to reformate dead battle droids into Cape wearing Magnaguards.
Even during the Transformers Wars these deadly droids were powerful and effective Autobot and Jedi slayers that even the Autobots most strongest robots like Optimus Prime, Omega Supreme, Jetfire, Jazz and Superion had a hard time defeating hordes of these deadly droids. These things can use their electrostaffs to pierce even Mammoth Tank armor and they wore evil cloaks that scares enemies and shields them from fire. They serve as the 20 Great Demon Generals and Darth Grievous's elite bodyguards. The Demon Sith Lord Darth Grievous built the largest Magnaguard army during the Transformers Wars. At the end of the Transformers Wars these droids were eradicated to the last bot in hoping the Magnaguards are never seen again.
Dark Future[]
In Darth Grievous's evil vision of the future the Magnaguards defeated the last autobot and later was sealed into cocoons like the other Sith minions of darth grievous. After 99 years they all get reborned as cape wearing monsters with red eyes and wore giant sombreros that corrupted the magnaguards and all the other sith minions.
