Mackenzie-Rose Lane-Washington (November 18, 1995), known professionally as Mackenzie Lane is an American actress, motion capture artist, and former amateur mixed martial artist. She gained prominence in the horror genre for her leading roles in independent films, earning her the moniker of a "scream queen." Lane is best known for her portrayal of final girl Pipi Pendleton in the Troma-produced post-apocalyptic slasher series COVID-Graveyard (2020–present).

Beyond her work in horror, Lane is recognized for leveraging her martial arts background in action films. Her other notable roles include the unhinged antagonist April June Felden in the horror-comedy April: Folly's Week (2022) and the grieving protagonist Laura Kemp in the slasher film To My Best Friend... Thank You... (2023).

Early Life[]

Mackenzie-Rose Lane-Washington was born on November 18, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Luke Barrett-Lane, a martial arts instructor, and Amelia Lane. Inspired by her father, she began training in various martial arts disciplines at a young age. She was raised with her younger brother, Maxie Lane, who also pursued a career in acting. After graduating from high school, Lane briefly moved to the East Coast and attended the Community College of Baltimore County before committing to a career in competitive fighting and later, acting.

Career[]

Mixed martial arts[]

Before her acting career, Lane competed on the regional amateur mixed martial arts circuit in the early 2010s. Competing primarily in the strawweight division, she amassed a record of 8 wins and 6 losses, winning several local tournaments. Her background in combat sports would later become a signature element of her film roles, where she frequently performs her own stunts.

Acting career[]

Lane transitioned to acting in 2017, making her debut in the horror-action adventure The Devil's Counter. She spent the next few years in lead roles, including an appearance in the 2018 horror thriller The Deadliest Roulette and 2019 indie thriller film Corrupted Killing Popcorn, often in few collaborated with Tony Todd before he passed in 2024.

Her breakthrough came in 2020 when she was cast by Troma Entertainment co-founder Lloyd Kaufman in the lead role of Pipi Pendleton in the post-apocalyptic slasher horror COVID-Graveyard. The film's cult success established Lane as a prominent figure in independent horror. She reprised the role in the sequels COVID-Graveyard 2: Next Mutation (2021), COVID-Graveyard 4: New Blood Domination (2023), COVID-Graveyard 5: Latest Deformation (2024), and COVID-Graveyard 6: Mutated Bloodline (2025). Her portrayal of the resourceful, damsel-in-distress-turned-survivor Pipi Pendleton cemented her reputation as a "scream queen," drawing comparisons to genre veterans like Danielle Harris and Felissa Rose.

Capitalizing on this momentum, Lane took on diverse roles within the horror genre, playing a psychopathic sister in the black comedy horror April: Folly's Week (2022) and a devastated heroine in the slasher To My Best Friend... Thank You... (2023).

Simultaneously, Lane built a career in action films, often performing in international productions. She appeared in the Chinese martial arts film Dragon's Sentinels (2022), the Hong Kong action-thriller Gold-Blooded (2023), and the Japanese action romantic drama film Ashura: The Fist of Raging Demon (2024), where her physical prowess was highlighted.

In 2024, Lane expanded into television, appearing in the web special KOF Team Fiction EX: Blood Phenomenon and the horror miniseries Miranda's Mistakes. In 2025, she starred in the thriller Underground Dome and appeared in the web series The Zero Point.
