Looking For Alaska is an upcoming 2019 romantic dark comedy drama film written and directed by Josh Schwartz and starring Shiloh Fernandez, Anna Kendrick, Hilary Swank, Johan Matton, Leonardo Nam, Beth Behrs, François Arnaud, James Wolk, Robert De Niro, Richard Jenkins, Glenn Close and Ben Kingsley.

Plot

An eccentric youth Miles "Pudge" Halter comes to Culver Creek Boarding School, a co-educational facility where he becomes instantly fascinated and drawn in by passive-aggressive student Alaska Young (Anna Kendrick).

Miles Halter had been the weird, obsessive compulsive student with a thing for the final words of dead people of great significance and despite his broody charm, friendliness and attractive features an outcast freak.

In his pursuit of the strange, troubled Alaska Young Miles comes to learn his equally bizarre roommate Chip "Colonel" Martin (Johan Matton) is best friends with Alaska, he reveals to Miles that she is a wild party girl who is incredibly self-destructive, troubled and unpredictable.

Chip introduces Miles to him and Alaska's asian friend Takumi Hikohito (Leonardo Ham) who is a desperate for attention and inclusion obsessive compulsive who Miles finds some solace in. Miles however still determined on Alaska who dodges his advances left, right and centre. Chip comes to feel Miles' genuine love for Alaska and seeing as she has never ever had a proper boyfriend or love helps Miles to try and win her heart, in hope of saving her from her destructive downward spiral. Complicated matters with a trio of bullies brings Miles closer to Alaska whilest matters with Alaska's beautiful, intelligent and compassionate immigrant friend Lara (Beth Behrs) tears them further apart. Miles finds solace in his struggling impaired father, the school's strict dean who Alaska, Takumi, Chip and Lara proceeded to prank and the bizarre world religions professor who is a struggling asthmatic.

In an ultimate conclusion Alaska accepts a partial amount of the love Miles deals her way and returns it mutually, realizing however with the death of her mother, her manic depression and inability to cope with life and everything around her she committs suicide and everyone grives her death but comes to move on.
