Kingdom Hearts IV is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Wii U and Xbox One. It is the sixteenth instalment in the Kingdom Hearts series, and the fourth in the 'Dark Founder' saga that began with Kingdom Hearts: 0 and follows the events of the previous entry: Kingdom Hearts: Woken Bestial.

The game follows new head protagonist Nestin as he and newfound companions Donald Duck, Goofy, Oswald The Lucky Rabbit and Julius The Cat in their quest to find the missing former hero Sora, and stop mysterious Master of Masters and his shapeshifting subordinate Luxu.

The game sees many returning gameplay features from the series, and expands the party to an alternating six, one more than the previous main series Kingdom Hearts III released in 2019.

The new combat system and overall gameplay features Disneyland inspired attraction attacks based on such popular features as Fantasmic!, Disney On Ice and In Concert.

The game was built using Unreal Engine 4 like the previous third game and was released worldwide on April 4th, 2024 to positive reception, and top selling.
