Kakamora is a species of modern day ground sloth that was discovered in May 31, 2017 by a group of zoologists, confirming that ground sloths are still among us. Kakamoras are semiaquatic and spend most of their time in the shorelines feeding on seaweed. They are named after the villians from the Disney film Moana due to their habits of spending much of their time in the seas feeding on marine plants. They are the size between the American black bear and a brown bear. Despite their size and feirce appearance, they are actually gentle herbivores. They are native to much of Pacific islands, including Polonysian Islands, Hawaiian Islands, and even Pacific islands off the coast of North America and South America.
