Jackie and Jeff is an American television sitcom that premiered on ABC on September 19th 2017. It follows married couple Jackie (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Jeff Henderson (Ray Romano) as they deal with the troubles that come with middle-age and grown-up children. The series co-stars Cloris Leachman as Jackie's Mom, Harriet, Dylan Sprouse as Xander, Jackie and Jeff's son and Taissa Farmiga as Victoria, Jackie and Jeff's daughter with Laura Linney, Christian Serratos, Michael Douglas and Patrick Stewart in recurring roles.
Jackie and Jeff was acclaimed by critics throughout its run. The show won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in its first two years and again in its final 3 years. The Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series was awarded four times to Ray Romano and once to Dylan Sprouse, the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series was achieved twice for Patrick Stewart and once for Michael Douglas, as well as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series five times for Julia Louis Dreyfus and twice for Taissa Farmiga. Cloris Leachman, Christian Serratos and Laura Linney each achieved an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress once. It also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in its first, fifth, seventh and ninth season.
After airing three seasons and 66 episodes, ABC cancelled Jackie and Jeff in May 2020. However, the series was saved by streaming service Hulu only days later. The fourth season of the show premiered in time for the 2020/21 Autumn television season, with Hulu continuing the show's Tuesday night schedule. After nine seasons and 200 episodes, Jackie and Jeff ended in May 2026 with an hour-finale released on Hulu.
Premise[]
Jackie and Jeff follows the Henderson family, specifically Jackie and Jeff Henderson, a middle-aged couple from New York who now live in Ventura, California. Jackie works in regional theatre while Jeff works as a successful architect. They've recently welcomed Jackie's mom into their home after Jackie's father passed away, but trouble arises when their grown son, Xander, decides he too wants to move back home. Jackie and Jeff's hope of a term of blissful peace is abruptly pulled to a halt when their lives become chaotic once again, at least they have their sensible college-graduate daughter living only a few blocks away. Jackie and Jeff are also close friends of Hallie and Jackson Welch, their neighbours and are also fond of Jeff's niece Audra, who visits often. Another frequent visitor to their house is Jackie's Uncle Frank, who is seemingly trying to woo his recently widowed sister-in-law.

The pilot of Jackie and Jeff premiered in an advanced preview on September 19th 2017 before airing in its official Tuesday night slot starting October 3rd with a double bill. The second half of the season began airing on March 6th 2018 and the season concluded on May 1st 2018. There was a total of 22 episodes this season.
