Heartache is the second mixtape by American singer-songwriter Neriah Fisher. It was released on March 10, 2017 by Republic Records. The record was produced by Jack Antonoff. It was written by Fisher and Antonoff. The record was completed within four months, and released just five months after Fisher's debut mixtape, Happy New Year.

Heartache was preceded by two singles. "Waste My Time" was released as the lead single on February 10, 2017 and debuted at number 49 in Canada, with a music video being released just four days later. It shows Fisher in a mental institution, with purple and grey clouds surrounding her. After the release of the music video, the song reached its peak in Canada, at number 15. It also charted at number 40 on the US Mainstream Top 40 chart. The song is currently Fisher's best performing single in Canada and has since been certified platinum there. The second single, "Toxic", was released on March 3, 2017. It debuted and peaked at number 55 in Canada and number 71 in Ireland. "Your Funeral" was released as the third single on April 28, 2017.

The mixtape debuted at number 45 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 11,000 units in its first week. In Canada, it debuted at number 18, and reached its peak of number 14 the following week. Certain tracks from the mixtape also entered the Canadian Hot 100 despite not being released as singles.

Writing & recording

Fisher worked with Jack Antonoff to write and produce the mixtape. In an interview, she stated that the project was inspired by a series of voice mails that her ex-boyfriend sent to her while he was drunk. Sections of his messages were sampled in the production of the songs.

Promotion

Fisher performed "Waste My Time" on February 16, 2017 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon the day after. She performed "Toxic" at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards, alongside "Happy New Year" and "Mercy" with Shawn Mendes.
