Season 3 News

  • Will consist of 18 episodes.
  • A whodunnit will set throughout the season to see who killed Derek Throne who was killed off in the end of season 2 finale with some shocking truth and twist.
  • Despite his character got killed off in season 2 finale, Ray Liotta will appear in flashback for 7 episodes including season finale.
  • Bella Thorne will guest-star for three episodes including season 3 finale as the ex-lover of Derek Throne (Ray Liotta). Her character was found buried for almost 4 years in Max and Chloe's garden. She will appear in flashback to show how did she died.
  • Morris Chestnut will depart the main cast at the end of the third season.
  • Zooey Deschenal's status as a cast member beyond the current season is currently in limbo.
  • Alexis Knapp will guest-star for 4 episodes as Dr. Kristen Hammond, the doctor who attempted to kills Derek Throne, but stopped by Jasmine before his real murder.
  • The killer of Derek Throne to be revealed on the end of episode 17. 
  • Peter Capaldi will reprise his role as Councilman Wilkes for three episodes,  including the season finale.
  • Michael Ealy will recur as Gang Unit Detective Jesse Temple for five episodes, including the season finale.
  • A main character will be killed off in episode 15.
    • That character is revealed to be DA Jerry Hardin at the end of the episode.
    • Peter Coyote will appear season finale in flashback to revealed the person killed him.
  • Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Archie Kao will guest star as DA Investigators for the last three episodes of the season.

Season 4 News

  • Will consist of 16 episodes.
  • Michael Ealy will be promoted to a series regular.
  • Zooey Deschanel will leave the main cast after the fifth episode of the season.
    • Beau Garrett will replace her in the seventh episode.
  • David Caruso will join the cast as the new Interim District Attorney.
  • Chris Vance will join the cast as recurring, playing Detective James Greico, Beth Greico's older brother.
  • Bianca Kajlich will plays a recurring character, Dr. Abby Lambert, James and Beth Gredico's sister. Her first appearance will be in episode 13.

Season 5 News

  • Will consist of 15 episodes.
  • Will premiere on December 14, 2015.
  • Corbin Bleu will join the recurring cast as Lucas Rodney, James' new partner for seven episodes.
  • Episode 2: DNA test will be revealed, if Capatin Thorne is Courtney Palmer (Daisy Ridley)'s father.
  • A two shocking revelations will be revealed at episode 3.
  • Neve Campbell will guest stars as a detective from Portland, Oregan who come to Los Angeles to help Hartman and her team with the case for six episodes including season finale. Her first appearance will be in episode 9.
  • Alexandra Hedison will leave the regular cast after the seventh episode due to a contract dispute. She is open to return the next season as a guest star.
  • Officer Brooks (Adam Jamal Craig) will be promoted to Detective after passing the exam and be reassigned near the end of the season.
  • David Caruso is pending on whether or not this will be his last season.
  • Terry and Lucy's baby will be born in the fourth episode (with a surprise).
  • There will be an episode that focuses on Daniel and Aurora, and two that focus on Chloe's relationships with Max and Jasmine. Also, Beth and James Greico's family will debut later in the season.
  • The first episode will involve Max and Jasmine's jobs as bounty hunters.
  • Malin Åkerman to plays James Greico's ex-wife and mother of his two kids, Natalie Greico as recurring cast. 
  • Austin Stowell join the recurring cast as Cameron Johnson, Beth Greico's childhood friend following his first appearance in episode 3 as Beth's stalker.
  • There will be a flashback episode on episode 8 involved Beth, James and Cameron.
    • On episode 5, it's revealed Cameron was involved with James' juvenile past.
    • Flashback episode will reveals the darkest secret that James and Cameron have hidden for years.
  • Craig T. Nelson to plays James, Abby and Beth's father, Frank Greico for six episodes.

Season 6 News

  • Will consist of 24 episodes.
  • Will premiere June 6, 2016, same day Law & Order: Dallas Season 9 premiere and Law & Order: New Orleans Season 17 premiere.
  • The squad's search for Cameron's killer will be the focus of the premiere.
  • Dale Dickey to plays Cameron's mother, Marnie Johnson for seven episodes.
  • Warren Kole will join the recurring cast as Joel Finn, Officer Ng's new partner and childhood friend of Detective Temple.
  • David Caruso will leave the cast in the 12th episode of the season.
    • Geena Davis will join the cast in his place as the new elected D.A.
  • Episode 23 will be the 100th episode of the series.
    • A main character will die (but not by violence).
    • A recurring character will be involved (not by killing them).
    • Morris Chestnut, Zooey Deschanel, Bianca Lawson, and Adam Jamal Craig will return for this episode.
  • The first half of the season will focus on the squad's attempt to link Cameron's death to Demon, and Mendoza going through several family crises regarding his twin niece and nephew, as well as his wife and children.
  • The second half of the season will focus on one of the original squad members going through a critical health crisis and Max's past coming to haunt him with arrival of Thomas and Anna, his older and younger (respectively) half-siblings and Sandra, his step-mother.
  • Taraji P. Henson will recur as Lt. Deidre Joseph, a temporary replacement for Mendoza for five episodes.
  • Dominic West will appear in nine episodes as Thomas Browning, Max's half-brother and Jack, Daniel, and Aurora's uncle. He plays the role in Season 4 of Law & Order: New Orleans.
  • Emily Mortimer will appear in eight episodes as Anna Browning, Thomas' sister, Max's half-sister and Jack, Daniel and Aurora's aunt. She will bear a grudge against Max for killing their father.
  • Margot Kidder will appear for five episodes as Sandra Browning, Thomas and Anna's mother and Max's step-mother.
  • Two characters (one main, one recurring, both detectives) will strike up a relationship followed a fallout of Cameron Johnson's murder and their feelings grown for each other.
  • Sarah Snook will appear for five episodes at Detective Erin Kingsley who investigates Jack Hartman's attack on Jamie Baxter, a teenage boy who physically abuses his brother, Kyle.
  • Olivia Newton-John will appears for three episodes including season finale but her character is a mysterious woman. But her character's identity to be revealed at the end of season finale. She is related to a main character.
  • James Van Der Beek to plays Dr. Abby Lambert's husband, Dr. Declan Lambert as recurring cast for eight episodes. Declan will have a large part at the 100th episodes of the series where a character died.

Season 7 News

  • Will consist of 21 episodes.
  • Will premiere on October 7, 2016.
  • There will be a crossover with Law & Order: Dallas Season 10; the two part event will happen in episode 9.
  • Wentworth Miller will join the cast as a new detective, who is also a foster brother of Temple and childhood friend of Temple and Finn.
  • Jonathan Togo will join the cast as Jack's new training officer.
  • Two characters will become pregnant.
  • A long-awaited wedding will occur.
  • Hartman and James Greico will take the Sergeant's exam.
  • Richard Riehle and Marianne Muellerleile will join the cast as Hartman's paternal grandparents Karl and Marlene.
  • T.I. will recur as an L.A. County Sheriff's Deputy and childhood friend of Temple, Finn, and the new detective.
  • Olivia Newton-John will return for eight episodes as Flora King.
  • The truth about what happened to Emma Greico will be revealed on episode 12.
    • Adrienne Barbeau cast as unknown role, her identity of her character will reveals at episode 12. 
    • Frank Greico's secret will be revealed.

Season 8 News

  • Will premiere on September 22, 2017.
  • Will consist of 21 episodes.
  • At the start of the season, a criminal conspiracy will unfold in a special five-parter and one main charcater and two recurring characters will die.
    • First 3 episodes will force on a three different groups of main and recurring characters investigate a separate cases before they caught up in criminal conspiracy.
    • 3 episodes will be a point of view before all three stories come together at the end of episode 3.
  • Three new characters (two main, one recurring) will join the cast: two will be replacements for two of the deceased, the other will be a Internal Affairs sergeant who is originally sent to investigate the MCU.
    • Erik King will be cast as the sergeant, described as "a hardass cop", sent to keep an eye on the MCU for suspected corruption. He will join in the season's fifth episode when he investigates the aftermath of a criminal conspiracy.
    • Jamie Bamber will be cast as Choy's replacement. A former Washington, D.C. police officer who moved to Los Angeles and became a D.A. Investigator following a scandal in the Metro DC police department. He is described "a people pleaser, but very peculiar." He will appear in the seventh episode.
    • Goran Visnjic will be cast as Monroe's replacement; he is described as a Croatian national who emigrated to the U.S. over a decade earlier and has a foreign sense of humor in his pathology work. He will appear in the seventh episode.
  • One main character will battle depression following the conspiracy's events.
  • Victoria Justice joins as a new recurring character, Detective Ariel Vargas. Ariel is District Attorney Fontana's daughter. Her first appearance will be in episode 15.
    • Ben Mendelsohn casts as a new recurring character, Gordon Fontana, Fontana's husband and Ariel's step-father. His first appearance will be in episode 16 which will sets his involvement throughout the next season.
  • Lauren will give birth to her and Jack's child in the twentieth episode.
  • Tia Mowry-Hardict will leave the main cast at the end of the season.
  • Ricardo Antonio Chivira will also depart the main cast, though he will guest in the in first two episodes of the following season to wrap up his character's storyline.

Season 9 News

  • Will premiere on June 2, 2018.
  • Will consist of 23 episodes.
  • Elizabeth Gillies will join the main cast as Winston's replacement, a young D.D.A. looking to serve justice whenever possible, and a perpetual rule bender.
    • Gillies' character will become friends with Vargas; she's share a dark secret involved Ariel's abusive stepfather, Gordon Fontana from 10 years ago.
    • Joey King has been cast as a young Morgan Shane in flashback scenes for two episodes to reveal Morgan's link with Gordon Fontana.
  • Benito Martinez will join the cast in the third episode, as a new lieutenant and old friend of Mendoza, who personally vouches for him to replace him as the MCS's second-in-command.
  • Ariel Winter has been cast as a young Ariel Vargas in flashback scenes in three episodes to display Ariel's abuse by her stepfather.
  • Hartman's new role as a grandmother will be explored during this season, as will Jack and Lauren's roles of being new parents.
  • Ramsay and Beth will explore a relationship together during the season.
  • A main character will left for their life after they was stabbed in mistaken identity at the end of episode 11.
  • Jacob Tremblay will recur as Jonathan Shane, Morgan's son who is a product of her abuse from Gordon, in the latter half of the season.
  • Gillian Alexy will leave the series as a regular at the end of the season.
  • Two recurring characters will leave by the end of the season; one will die, the other will leave by other means.
    • Detective Lucas Rodney dies in the episode "Nothing to Lose".

Season 10 News

  • Will premiere on March 6, 2019.
  • Will consist of 22 episodes.
  • Victoria Justice will join the regular cast.
  • More of Hartman's family life and Ramsay and Beth's relationship will be explored during the season.
  • A Hartman family member will die in the season premiere.
  • Alexandra Hedison will return as Ingrid O'Donnell, guest starring in seven episodes in the second half of the season.
    • Her first appearance will be in episode 14 as she works with Hartman to get her brother's conviction overturned.
  • Carmine Giovinazzo will recur in the final six episodes as Sgt. Mars Castillo, the head of the L.A.P.D. Anti-Crime Unit who takes a shine to Temple.
  • Courteney Cox will play a mysterious woman for 8 episodes. She is links to one of the main stories. She will appear at the episode 8.
  • Episode 8 will airs a special episode which mainly focused on three characters; Hartman, Throne and Ramsey as they deals their personal crisis.
  • Willa Fitzgerald to plays a new nanny for Jack and Lauren for 4 final episodes.
    • On episode 19, she was revealed as the daughter of Courtney's character and Ramsey's half-sister.
    • The identity of Nancy's father will reveals at the end of season finale where the story will leads up to next season.
  • Three characters will receive promotions by the end of the season, that will change the dynamic of the series.
  • Viggo Mortenson and Michael Ealy will leave the series at the end of the season, while Jonathan Togo will be reduced to recurring status as well.
