"Groove" is a song by American actress and singer Sofia Carson and American singer Meghan Trainor. The song was written by Carson and Trainor, alongside the song's sole producer Andrew Wells. The track was released for streaming and digital download on January 10, 2020 by Capitol Records, along with "Nothing Like This" and "Wouldn't Blame Ya". The song is included on the deluxe edition of Trainor's third studio album, Treat Myself, and is considered to be the album's third official single.

The song was a moderate commercial success, charting on various international charts. On the US Billboard Hot 100, the song debuted and peaked at number 79 and became Trainor's first Hot 100 entry since her 2018 single, "No Excuses". The song peaked at number 15 on the US Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, being serviced strictly to that format.

The song has an alternative cover artwork featuring Trainor. Carson has stated that she began working with Trainor following an interaction with her at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Live performances

Carson performed the song with Trainor at her Treat Myself iHeartRadio Album Release Party, which took place on January 31, 2020. Trainor performed a medley of "Groove" and "Nice To Meet Ya" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on February 6, 2020, replacing Trinidadian-American rapper and singer Nicki Minaj's guest verse from "Nice To Meet Ya" with a verse from "Groove". Carson performed a solo version of the song at the 2020 Juno Awards.

Commercial performance

"Groove" debuted and peaked at number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside "Nothing Like This" which debuted at number 30 that same week. The song then spent another week on the chart at number 100, dropping twenty-one positions. The song achieved mild success globally, reaching number 54 in the United Kingdom and becoming a top forty hit in both Canada and New Zealand, peaking at number 36 and number 40 respectively.
