students with different abilities facing off against several enemy agents of the supernatural, as well as their fledgling hormones, young adulthood, love, loss and the trials and tribulations of life whilst struggling with their own unique supernatural confinements.

The show's central character Marty Lormack (Darren Criss) deals with becoming a warlock after discovering the secret of his longtime popular crush Katie McGrath (Brooklyn Decker) who reveals herself as a Witch and that the two must head a faction sworn to saving their small town, university and an ancient compendium from the forces of darkness out destroy everything.

Along for the ride is also Marty's clumsy, self proclaimed Romeo and unlucky in love and general life greaser bestfriend Randy McCorman (Alex Russell) who so happens to be a Trickster, Marty's reclusive roommate Artie Bank (Freddie Stroma) a ladykiller vampire, Marty and Randy's lifelong friend Jenny Camberwell (Karen Gillan) who becomes a Nymph and brother and sister duo Tate (Arlen Escarpeta) and Penny Darnley (Josie Loren) whom serve as sibling werewolves.

The show first aired on January 16th, 2012 on the CW networks phenomenal praise from critics and audiences.

It was renewed for a second season on August of the same year and is still currently running.

It has since spawned a motion comic, figurines and merchandise to support the television franchise.

The series concerns pre-med genius Marty Lormack (Darren Criss) who attends the fictional Dante's Peak High School in the fictional town of Cypher Grove, Oregon.

Marty spends most of his time in the company of longtime childhood/family friend Jenny Camberwell (Karen Gillan) and longtime childhood bestfriend and practical joker, clumsy Dante clown Randy McCorman (Alex Russell).

Marty eventually sets his sights on the college's and high school's most popular smart girl student Katie McGrath (Brooklyn Decker) whom Randy launches the trio into investigating for Marty's benefit of hopefully winning her hand.

However as the group digs into the beautiful Katie she is found to be involved in what is believed to be the occult as shadowy demons arise in Cypher Grove and begin killing certain alumni of Dante's Peak.

To Marty's astonishment Katie eventually signs on to be his chemistry study partner in order to reveal to him she is a witch with supernatural powers and explain the situation at hand.

She also reveals that Marty himself is a Warlock who will be soon coming into his gifts once he is united the Grimoire.

Randy, Jenny and several other acquaintances of Marty's from the State University of Dante's Peak are revealed as possessing unique powers and being mythological beasts whom are sworn to protecting the ancient compendium known as the Grimoire, as well as the town of Cypher Grove and all it's denizens.

Trhoughout the show Marty and the others must juggle relationships, deal with the rituals of adulthood, people, everyday struggles and the problem of a various set of monsters out to get them and the other innocent civillians of Cypher's Grove.

Production and Development

The show was announced by the CW in 2011 following the success of the MTV Teen Wolf adaption and the show would share similiar elements and a young ensemble cast but also boast things not seen in the current big craze Teen Wolf.

The show took off in flying colours on January 16th and has since gone forward with Three seasons with a fourth in the works.
