Giraffe elephant (SciiFii)

The giraffe elephant (Dolicotherium elatior) is a species of elephant that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the tropical woodlands and savannas across Africa and Asia to help boost biodiversity. The giraffe elephants are some of the largest land mammals in the world, with adults standing nearly 6 meters tall at the shoulder and weighing up 25 metric tons, making them larger than the biggest Palaeoloxodon and Paraceratherium. These elephants differ greatly from their relatives; the most obvious diffirence being their long and powerful trunks, which allows them to browse tree canopies for food, much like a giraffe does, hence their names. They have many traits that evolved convergently with non-avian sauropod dinosaurs, most notably the brachiosaurs. Longer trunks also helps dissapate heat efficiently, and their striped patterns aid in camoflauge. Giraffe elephants behave diffirently from other elephants. They aren't nearly as sociable as other elephants, as their social groups are a lot less structured, but they still live in small familial herds together. Due to their large size, they must spend much more time eating, and cannot use as much energy to engage in complicated tasks, making them relatively "peaceful" as opposed to other elephants. Despite their slow, carefree nature, they will still defend themselves and their children against any unfortunate predator that chooses to cross their paths. The conservation status of the giraffe elephant is Near Threatened due to some habitat loss and historic poaching, however, thanks to conservationists, the giraffe elephant is a protected species.
