The ostrich demon duck (Genyornis australiensis), also known as the mihirung, is a species large, flightless bird that originally lived in the Middle Miocene, approximately 15 million years ago, in what is now Australia, and was once extinct, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii before being introduced to modern Australian forests, open woodlands, and savannas to boost biodiversity. It stands over two metres in height and weigh twice as heavy as an ostrich. Despite its fearsome appearance, it is actually a peaceful herbivore that mainly feeds on large nuts, fruits, and shrubs, and using its beak and claws only for defense if it is threatened or just feels threatened. The conservation status of the ostrich demon duck is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts and its wide range.
