- Gavin II's Mother: [worried, after saving Gavin II from Batou] Gavin, Galvin! How many times have I told you not to wander off that way?
- [she places her son on a nest]
- Gavin II's Mother: [now angry] Now you stay right here! You getting to be a terrible nusiance - now stop being a pest!
- [Gavin II goes stunned at that comment as he sees the other elephants glaring at him]
- [Davey Duck has scared all of the elephants away and into the river, except Gavin II, who doesn't budge]
- Davey Duck: [to Gavin II] What's the trouble, buster? Scared stiff?
- Gavin II: I'm not scared at all.
- Davey Duck: You're not?
- Gavin II: I'm just as big as you are.
- Davey Duck: But that's not the point, kid. I'm a Duck! You're an elephant. At least you look like one. You got a trunk.
- [he pulls on Gavin's trunk]
- Davey Duck: Flappy ears!
- [he tugs and flaps on Gavin's big ears]
- Davey Duck: Ho-ho-ho! Baggy pants!
- [he kicks Gavin in the rear]
- Davey Duck: [to Galvin II] Look, kid. I'll give you a break. I'm gonna count to three, and then, if you're not gone, I'LL TEAR YA TO SHREDS! Here goes... One. You better get movin'.
- [Goliath doesn't budge]
- Davey Duck: Two. I'm warnin' ya, kid!
- [still, Gavin doesn't budge]
- Davey Duck: Three! OKAY, YOU ASKED FOR IT, BUSTER!
- [Davey Duck headbutts Gavin and they get into a tussle]
- Gavin II's Mother: [seeing that EMILY is about to walk on Gavin II without notice] EMILY!
- [Emily stops as Gavin II plays with a butterfly]
- Gavin II's Mother: Why don't you watch where you're going, you - you clumsy ox!
- Emily: [furiously] Now, don't you 'clumsy ox' me! I can't watch out for your precious little brat; that's your worry. If you think I'm going to pussyfoot around the rest of my life just because...
- Gavin II's Mother: [seeing that Goliath II is about to be eaten up by a lion] Gavin! GAVIN!
- [Gavin's mother snatches him by the tail saving him as the lion chomps into nothing]
- Gavin II's Mother: [worried] Oh, Gavin, what on earth will I ever do?
- [Gavin II decides to run away from the elephant herd, but he is captured by Batou but Gavin's mother grabs the bear by the tail and throws him into the mouth of a lion]
- Narrator: Well, that was the end of old Batou.
- [a dazed Batou climbs out of the lion's mouth and runs off]
- Narrator: At least, he was never seen again.
- [the next day, Gavin II's mother angrily spanks Gavin for running away]
- Narrator: But it wasn't the end of Gavin's troubles. No, not by any means.
- [Gavin II looks up as the other elephants look scornfully at him, especially his father, Gavin I; Gavin II sobs]
- Narrator: You see, according to the elephant law, deserting the herd is a major offense. And the deserter is branded a scoundrel, a rogue elephant, a traitor to that high and imperial order of pompous pachyderms. But worst of all, he had disgraced his great father.
